• The Bite of '83: William's youngest son (the Crying Child / Evan) is accidentally killed when his older brother Michael and his friends stuff him into Fredbear's mouth during a prank, crushing his head. The Crying Child's spirit possesses Golden Freddy (or Fredbear).
• The First Murders: William Afton murders Henry Emily's young daughter, Charlotte (Charlie), outside the diner. Charlie's soul merges with the security animatronic, the Puppet (Marionette).
2. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza & The Missing Children (1980s)
• The MCI (Missing Children Incident): William uses a Spring Bonnie suit to lure and murder five children (Gabriel, Fritz, Susie, Jeremy, and Cassidy) at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. The Puppet helps their souls possess the main animatronics: Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Golden Freddy.
• Elizabeth and Circus Baby: William forms Afton Robotics LLC and builds Circus Baby's Pizza World to harvest Remnant (soul energy granting immortality). His daughter Elizabeth is accidentally killed and swallowed by Circus Baby, her soul trapped inside the robot.
• Bite of '87: A security guard named Jeremy Fitzgerald is bitten by Mangle, leading to the shutdown of that location's animatronics walking around during the day.
3. Michael Afton's Mission & William's Demise
Ennard & The Scooper: Michael Afton goes to Circus Entertainment and Rentals to free his sister Elizabeth. The Funtime animatronics combine into Ennard, "scoop" Michael's internal organs out, and wear his rotting body as a skin suit to escape. Michael's body collapses, but he is reanimated by Remnant and vows to hunt down his father.
Springtrap: Years later, William Afton returns to the abandoned Freddy's to destroy the animatronics. Cornered by the ghosts of the children he killed, he panics and puts on the Spring Bonnie suit. The springlocks fail, crushing him to death and trapping his corpse inside the suit to become Springtrap.
4. The Fire and the Modern Era (Pizzaplex & The Mimic)
• FNAF 6 Fire (2027): Henry Emily and Michael Afton lure the remaining haunted animatronics (including Springtrap/William, Circus Baby, and Lefty/Puppet) into a labyrinth pizzeria and burn it to the ground, finally freeing the trapped souls and sending William to hell.
• Virtual Reality and Vanny: Years later, remnants of William's digital consciousness (Glitchtrap) corrupt an upcoming Fazbear VR game and possess a security guard named Vanessa (turning her into Vanny).
