In this video, I'll show you how to paint a bouquet of flowers (peonies) in oil. I prepared this production for my students and decided to paint it myself, as the theme of flowers is always relevant. This video is a video lesson or master class where I'll show you the entire process of painting a piece, from the drawing to the final brushstrokes.
I begin the painting without a pencil sketch, immediately using paint and reinforcing the lines with tone by filling in the shadows. A bouquet of flowers—a complex element consisting of many objects—should be viewed as a whole from the start. Using broad brushstrokes, we establish the relationships between the objects and the background, then move on to the details. When working with color, I adhere to a scheme of warm shadows, midtones, and cool highlights. The painting is done in oil, but the technique is also suitable for acrylic and gouache. If you're a beginner artist and want to learn how to paint this composition, you can follow me through all the steps, pausing the video periodically. This technique is called "from spot" or "from general to specific," where the drawing is refined throughout the work. Thanks for watching, and I wish you creative success!
In this video, I'll show you how to draw a bouquet of flowers (peonies) with oil. I prepared this production for my students and also decided to write it, since the theme of flowers is always relevant. The video is a video lesson or a master class where I will show the whole process of writing the work from the drawing to the last strokes.
I start the picture without a pencil drawing, immediately paint and reinforce the line with a tone - I fill the shadow part of the subject. A bouquet of flowers is a complex element of many objects should initially be considered as something whole. With large strokes, we scatter the relations of objects and the background - then we move on to the details. When working with color, I adhere to the scheme of warm shadows and semitones and cold lights. The painting is painted in oil, but the technique is perfect for acrylic and gouache. If you are a novice artist and want to learn how to draw this production, then you can repeat all the steps after me, periodically pausing the video. This technique is called "from the spot" or from the general to the particular, where the drawing is refined throughout the work. Thank you for watching and all creative success!
