Jake talking about the AI stuff genuinely sounds like a bit from New Girl

Stav checking Jake on Shia Laboeuf & AI within the first 34 mins of this episode was so therapeutic 💀

I love when callers call in like "obviously Stavvy hates women like me so he'll love this story"

I love that Stav is vehemently anti AI

Hearing Jake (assuming he is a moderately successful and rich capitalist) talk about AI, while kind of dismissing the issues with it and the effects on the working class, opened my eyes to how cooked we really are. This shows why we really need to be boycotting not only businesses, but celebrities at this point because they are obviously willfully ignorant to the extreme economic conditions and late stage capitalism currently happening. It also shows how much they would prefer their own comfort and not change their habits during these unprecedented times. While Jake can easily afford groceries, water, food, housing, so many are currently suffering from food insecurity, poverty, and homelessness. He really needs a reality check that he is closer to being in poverty than being a billionaire. This makes me consider how much other rich people are using ai for frivolous things, while it sucks the resources from everyday folks. We really need to be unfollowing and not supporting celebrities ventures (like their movies or products) at least temporarily until we can have a system that works for all. Also, don’t  unfollow people like stav because he’s on the right side of history with this stuff and I appreciate him pushing back on Jake about ai.

Jake is using AI like no one's ever told him to just write in a fuckin journal lmfao the amount of brains we could save from brainrot by just giving them a diary is insane

Love how Stav never beats around the bush. Lol

ready for the breaking news in 6-10 months saying Jake Johnson institutionalized due to AI psyhosis.

That first caller is an even worse version of the dude from the Caleb episode complaining about paying for his gf’s friend’s drinks

Jake is a lil too successful/lucky/handsome enough that he’s kind of a child. His best moments are when he takes the L this episode and a lot of the time he’s not trying to. Stav had him dead to eights with the “dropout who never learned anything beyond their arts career should maybe shut up and listen when people explain something instead of going with their gut.” Cause the problem ain’t that AI can do all our jobs, it clearly can’t. The error rates are between 30-60% for tasks where there is a right way to do it and where there are facts. That’s dog shit. The problem with AI is that rich fucks want to fire two thirds of people and have the rest of us do triple the work to make up for all the AI fuck ups. It also is such a good means of control because convenience is what’s killing is in America; if right wing shit coexists with convenience then organizing to stop climate change, get better wages, deal with housing insecurity, etc just won’t happen. The rich are already too in a of no bad consequences this just reaffirms that.

it took way too long for me to realize his love for AI wasn’t a bit

Leslie Knope in 2026 would absolutely be covering up atrocities in the state department and fully endorsed by AIPAC.

First caller is the dumbest dude I’ve ever heard speak lmfao

"Luckily miscarried" is the first NEW out of line thing I've heard in years, I'll give him that

15:00 I went to a high school with a guy who was one of the biggest offensive linemen in our state. He started to lose weight when we were in our 30's, and posted every day about it. He was the nicest guy in the World, so everyone was cheering him on. He lost enough weight, he needed surgery to remove the excess skin. Again, everyone cheered him. Once he weighed less AND became skinny, he became the biggest azzhole. He would tell others, unprompted, on their accounts, or in person, they needed to get skinnier, and if he could do it without shortcuts then they could, too. He became THAT political guy, too. Later, we found out he had lap band surgery, THEN the skin removal surgery. Don't get me wrong, I respect the effort still necessary, but no one should respect a liar, who treats others like sh17.

doorDash and bread and butter is a straight up savage move

Thank you for not backing down on the AI thing, I was the same as Jake like a year ago

Eldy's up early making omelettes watching Miami Vice and uploading

It's scary how absent-mindedly and routinely people are just folding AI into their lives, and then justifying it. Props to you Stav for not ceding even an inch of ground on the subject, while still remaining funny.

what is the ethical stance to take with AI? i feel like i literally can’t avoid it. google auto-generated AI responses in a simple search, every customer service chat/phone line has BEEN AI for years… how can we actually opt out of this at this point? it seems we’ll folded into the internet and telecommunications already
