I just love how weirdly comforting Les's work is.
Watching Survivorman is like hanging out with an old friend.

Les is a genius at work. From him surviving solo, filming the entire thing at a professional level without a crew, and the ability to speak so eloquently and narrate his own show is remarkable. Not to mention, he also wrote and sang the opening theme song for the show. Great job with your career Les been watching you since a young kid 15 years ago.

“I’m getting full.”
First and last time Les ever said that out loud in the series

Narwhals: "look at this guy. Just as bald as us and no pretty horn.  I feel so sorry for him let's help him out"

Somewhere out there, that sock is still burning.

I was so happy he caught those fish.

watching les fish and being all happy after he catches one is literally the best thing, it makes me genuinely happy

Watching Les almost starve is pretty hard. Hearing his voice explain how he almost didn't go fishing, and then trailing off into laughter.. dude was absolutley famished.

love seeing Les catch a meal, sit by the fire and rest!

when your point your camera at a camera saying this is what you look like to me, thats when you know your bored lol

As I recall from the commentary, this is the episode where the rescue crew was stuck in smokey greasy tents eating really bad tasting canned food while Les was gorging himself on Arctic Char.

Les should do an episode of being lost in space. He’s been everywhere in the planet so that’s all that’s left 😂

One of my favorite things to do is watch Les freeze and starve while I'm bundled up in bed with a snack.

This is my comfort show

Les’ energy before and after the fish meal is insane! Dudes Lethargic as hell before but the second that fish is on he is so pumped and after he eats you can hear the difference in his voice!

love this episode. the artic char scene is practically iconic to me. i always wondered why the gulls were suddenly so avoidant of the bait he put out. the lack of a real explanation invites a slightly chilling idea

i sometimes wonder if they were scared away by a visiting bear lol

When you realize they filmed themselves leaving on the helicopter so they had to circle back to get the camera

Catching those fish must have been such a rewarding adrenaline hit

My sister worked as a cook on Baffin Island and brought home some smoked Arctic Char. To this day it's one of my favorite things I've ever tasted.

The shot of the iceberg collapsing was the cherry on the top.
