This is what is called professionalism. Great video man.

I love it when you describe the process in detail,  I would like to know better how you determine belt tension better.

I'm a mechanic on Typhoon aircraft. How are your tools so much better than what we use day in day out. Crazy!!!

most of that bead of silicon you put on would have been pushed inwards and will eventually end up in the oil pump good video very informative

This is a perfect mechanic for a vw repair video ...... Great video, thanks for the info.

As far as I know the torque spec for the lug bolts are (unlike passenger cars) 180 Nms.

Done my timming belt on my diesel 205 over ten years ago, but this looks like a mission!

Thank you for your video, I have decided on the strength of this viewing that it perhaps is not a job that I can do.

Great video, really nice to see someone who wants it to be right👍👍

Krásná práce chlapy! At se daří v zahraničí :)

Yeah I love watching a master at work

If i'm correct the crankshaft bearing is an PTFE bearing and should NOT be oiled but needs to be placed on dry surface.... they will leak again...
but good job anyways on the timing belt and taking the time to replace the bearing.
I would change the crankshaft pulley aswell since i've had some who were worn out causing motormanagement issues and hard starts.

Also needed to remove the sump to put on bearing but i know its much more time consuming.

Piekna robota, dzięki za wideo❤

Great videos love your channel  from a t5 owner

Love it the way is shown thank you

i guys, thanks for sharing this detailed video! I really appreciate your work on these VAG engines.

I have a few technical questions/observations I’d like to discuss with you:

High-Pressure Pump Pulley: I noticed you don't loosen the HP pump bolts during tensioning. Personally, I’ve found that as long as you loosen the camshaft pulley, after two manual crankshaft rotations, the timing marks (pins) still align perfectly. It seems like a smart way to preserve the delicate threads of the HP pump hub. Have you ever experienced any 'sync angle' issues or harmonic noise by keeping the pump pulley locked during the process?

Tensioner (04L109243AA): I see you are using the updated 'AA' version instead of the 'F' one. I noticed you don't use the T10265 locking tool for the adjustment. This usually results in the hex adjustment slot ending up at the 'top' position rather than the 'bottom' one prescribed by VW. Does this affect the dynamic behavior of the tensioner in your experience? Also, you seem to use a higher torque than the official 20 Nm + 45°. Have you found this to be more reliable over time?

Engine Mount Bolts: Regarding the mount, I noticed your torque specs differ slightly from the manual. I personally don't replace the bolts at the first belt interval either; I usually wait until the second one. When reusing them, I torque the M10s to 50 Nm + 45° and the M12 to 90 Nm + 45° (halving the stretch angle to avoid overstressing). What is the reasoning behind your specific torque figures?

Thanks again for the great content, keep up the good work!

9:27 I’m glad I’m not the only one who uses persuasive language like this when working on my car! 🤣
Great video as always. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Great job.  Хлопці ви молотці.

Nice clear detailed information

Amazing and quick job, as always, thanks for share, I like the same your special tools, what we doing without inspiration? Good idea
