In Australia in 2012 as an april fools joke i remember Disney channel aired an episode of best of luck Nikki instead of good luck Charlie

Fun fact about best of luck nikki, they never called any of dolly's love interests as "boyfriends" , they called them "khaas dost" which means special friend. As a kid i just used to think , wait he comes to her house, they talk and spend time together they already seemed good friends so why is she so worried about being friends XD

I actually wanna point out something important, having watched both shows. In good luck Charlie , teddy goes back to her cheater boyfriend and has only two major love interests. But dolly from best of luck Nikki actually has multiple love interests , different relationships and doesn't go back to her cheater bf in the end

As an Indian I can tell you that "Best of luck Nicki" was really big in India ✨✨
I watched that show multiple times and its one of my comforting show ( it just gives me a nostialgia vibes now)

as an Indian,I was surprised when I found out that these shows had original English american versions, personally to me and literally any other Indians I met,these shows were our whole childhood so when i grew up and found out that these shows were originally american was a similar feeling probably to how non indians feel on discovering these indian versions

One thing that I realised right now is that the mum in Best of Luck Nikki is a doctor and not a nurse. I have noticed that the US has more of a men are doctors and women are nurses trope, but in India, we have men are engineers and women are doctors mentality.

The fact that there are people from India thinking these shows are original speaks to Disney's skill in converting things over culturally if that makes sense

In Nikki, in the last episode, The mother actually gives birth to the 6th child Kookie and Nikki (Charlie) takes on the responsibility to create the video diary for Kookie since Dolly (Teddy) is moving away. Which is sorta going in full circle since Dolly started the video diary for Nikki and now shes doing it for her younger sister

12:53 thats because in india there are two types of schools the government schools and the private schools
The private schools are english meduim based which means that english is the primary language in the schools and since oberoi is rich she obviously went to a private school where students are more comfortable in english counting

FINALLY someone made a video about Disney Channel India! I was so shocked finding out about the Oye Jassie, Best of Luck Nikki when I grew up watching the original versions..I don't know if Disney remade these shows into other languages (Like Disney Channel Espana) like they did with India. But it's really cool seeing the cultural differences between the two.

They didn't add anymore cities outside Delhi and Mumbai because the language wouldn't be hindi anymore

Part of the reason is that the Indian version of good luck Charlie has more episodes is because the movie was a multi episode special in India.

As someone from the West who watches Bollywood, it’s actually frying me that Tara Sutaria - a genuine Bollywood actress - had her start playing the Indian version of Jessie. 😭😭

Fun fact: The Actor of Mr. Man Singh, Daman Singh (Mr. Mosby's Indian Counterpart) is primarily a Voice Actor and used to voice Mosby when the episodes of Zack and Cody were dubbed thus the Actor already had the idea of Mr Mosby's personality and characteristic already understood.
