Unfourtunately there has been many different controversies regarding... This topic in particular... For whatever reason. I could take guesses as to why but before spending this video essay in analysis of gacha players, we're instead gonna talk about the controversies of peoples waifus being NTR'd... Which is honestly much worse.

I thank the lord I’m mentally stable enough to where I can identify fiction as fiction

As weird as it is, I find these people obsessing over fictional characters preferable to obsessing over real ones

As a Limbus player the Kraust one is just.... God. Imagine being surprised that the ID based on a character who's obsession with Sinclair is half her entire personality ends up being obsessed with Sinclair. some people are just insane.

A Japanese group of gamers hired a truck in Korea displaying Japanese complaining about a Chinese game company having a collaboration with a Korean game company on a game about Japanese style mahjong now being covered by a English speaking youtuber.

Globalization.

Honkai bunny girl event mentioned. PTSD activated. I was one of the global players who got our event stripped from us, only to receive a measly 500 gems as compensation, while the CN side who screwed us got a full 2800 or something. Never forgive, never forget.

The blue archive and mahjong soul one was always funny to me like how are you (mahjong) NTR'ing yourself (sensei)

Random fun fact: Nearl in Arknight and Don Quixote has the same Korean VA.

The NTR title isn't only for Nearl.

damn, GFL players couldn't catch a break, first all their friends/waifus leave them and now Mr. chad thundercock himself introduces himself, wallahi they're in shambles

I find it even more funny that in response.

FGO literally made a unit with the "Anti-NTR" mechanic with the new beast unit, Summer Eresh. Where her newest ability only works with you and you can't use it if you use someone elses.

Limbus Company is the one gacha I don't feel like I need to spend money on with how easy IDs are to get thanks to the glorious yellow boxes. Not once did I look at any two characters and go, "man, they are totally flirting" or some other dumb shit that clearly isn't there

20:52 "In Russian Groza means lightning"
small Russian correction: гроза (It's pronounced Gra-zah) means: thunderstorm not lighting.
Lightning in Russian would be молния (pronounced mólnija)

Don't make fun of the guy who married Hatsune Miku. At least he can seperate fiction and reality. It's not hurting anyone so let the man be happy.

Meanwhile me at FGO: trying to unite husband and wife so they can be happy

I'm the type of girl to get unreasonable attached to characters, but I think it's insane how just the thought of someone's favorite character interacting with another character is enough to make them feel like they're being cheated on 💀

I feel like its worth noting that the Guardian Tales one was for the anniversary in China specifically. They were even the only people allowed to play him for a while.

I repeat: This NTR backstory was given to a character meant to be an anniversary gift to the players on the CHINESE servers. Who thought this was a good idea?

Man... parasocial situations like this are... scary.

At first they are funny, you just cant believe how people can get at that point, then you see that they are completely serious, then they started harassing creators and anyone they slightly disagree with... then you look at idol culture... and things stopped being just scary and become terrifying.

There is something deeply wrong in those communities, and... we kinda know a few of those problems, economy, social circumstances and whatnot, but... i still don't feel that those can explain how many people react like that.
