This week Phil meets Hedley who owns a rare Volvo 265 from 1983.
The majority of 200 series sold had a 4 cylinder red block engine and are known for being able to cover incredibly high mileages. The 6 cylinder engine was much less popular but does offer a greater level of refinement. Early 260 models were not known for their reliability but later ones are far better, however you do need to ensure they are regularly serviced. The engine is shared with the DeLorean.
Hedley loves his Volvo and shares his childhood memories of helping his dad who owned one and was an antiques dealer. The 200 series is an almost indestructible safety icon, from an era when Volvo really did build cars to last. Great days!
