If Weber would just make a 26" Performer - we'd all be set :)

Love my OG 22" and Smoky Joe grills.  Both over 30 years old and still rocking.

If you're moving the 26" kettle, just open it up.  Putting the lid in the holder at the back puts all the weight on the rear wheels, it rolls very easily and needs very little effort "holding the grill up" so the front leg doesn't catch.

We travel full time in a truck and travel trailer so the 22" kettle is what I use, just easier for loading/fitting in the truck. Made my own vortex from a furnace pipe reducer from home depot and have the charcoal baskets and a slow n sear. For 2 people it will cook enough for multiple meals/leftovers. I did find the built in thermometer to be useless due to its placement at the hottest point of the lid so I installed a larger one down near the bottom of the lid closer to the grate level. It now sits below the air vent so I can see the actual temp at grill level on the side  where the heat is being pulled. There is nothing that this grill can't do as long as you set it up correctly. One more thing, I drilled a small hole in the kettle itself so I can put temp probes thru to keep track of the meat temps.

I love my 26

Great video. I want both. The bigger one to smoke

I use the "charcoal holder" on my Performer Deluxe as a trash can. I'm much more likely to need somewhere to quickly dispose of a greasy paper towel, meat-soaked tray, etc. than I am to need quick access to charcoal.

I also use a chimney in combo with the propane starter. Just fill the chimney up to the desired level (it makes a good measuring device), place it over the propane starter, fire up the propane and, in a couple of minutes, the charcoal is on its way and you can turn the propane off.

Also, I hate the grates with the circular section that comes out. I have never cooked with a wok on a Weber but I have, way more often than I would like to remember, had that stupid circular thing fall out and spatter burned grease etc. on the patio or deck. I have replaced the grate on every Weber I've owned with one that does not have that circular thing.

Final comment (I mean it this time): Because the bottom paddles serve for both ash removal and air control, there is a large range of lever motion over which the vents are completely closed. When you are cooking it can be hard to tell where you are in terms of "fully open" to "fully closed" because you can't tell where, from the lever's position, the vents start to open. To address this you can, when the grill is cold and clean, move the lever to the point just before the vents are open and, using a Sharpie, mark that point on the aluminum sleeve. You now know, just by looking at it, when you are at or near the point where the bottom vents are fully closed.

I don’t have a lot of space to work with so the versatility and small footprint of a Weber Premium is perfect for me.
I can smoke low and slow and grill hot and fast! I use the charcoal baskets in all configurations! When I make wings I use a vortex.
I even have a steel plate from Hunsaker to use as a griddle to make smashburgers and breakfast!

I love my Weber kettle so much I call it “My precious.”

I have the 22" Weber kettle performer with the folding side table, doesn't take up much space and like the fact I can raise the table when needed. I have done some smoking on it with success but prefer to do most of smoking on my Oklahoma Joe Bronco drum smoker. Enjoy both units.

Best overall review of the Performer Luxe grill. We are looking at purchasing one this black friday after seeing it online at Crate and Barrel and BestBuy. I love all the additional attachments you can get later on. I'm a fan of multipurpose products that are well made but not over the top for the  money

Love your videos David , the only thing missing is your dog needs a chef’s hat , apron and a spatula. 😊

Good video, thank you. One thing that i think is often overlooked is that the little plastic things between the kettle and the bail (lid holder) are actually rollers, and can be used to make opening and closing the lid easier for people struggling with the weight.

I have a Performer and a 26” both are outfitted with SNS accoutrements. I use my Performer mainly for grilling and my 26” mainly for low and slow. But if I had to choose I would keep the…oh hey wait this is America, land of the free, I’ll keep them both!

I had the 26” because at the time the 22” didn’t have a thermometer. It was great but the 22” performer is my workhorse. I recently got rid of the 26”.

Why no Weber Kamado review?   I have the earlier Weber Summit Charcoal grill and its my favorite.  Should be included in the kamado videos

I’ve had both. The accessories for the 22” are endless. Saw you in Chuds video. Can’t wait to see a review on a wireless Thermoworks!

I always recommend the Weber Performer. It's so much more flexible. The surface is great for setting food, cooking tools, bowls, etc. on. Also you have the charcoal storage bid. Personally I use it for storage of grill tools, cleaning tools, and bags of wood chips. I feel the Performer is more stable and easier to move around my patio.

Great video thank you so much

My 10 year old Performer works as well today as it did the day I bought it.

I have the 22" Weber Mastertouch and I've always regretted not getting the 26".

Also, if you're like me and purchase and use a lot of grills/smokers, I'd recommend passing on bigger cart options or side tables and just get one or two stainless steel carts that can be easily moved around.  I have a couple and they are great.
