On June 17th, I went fishing at Shirakawa River with the Hida River Fisheries Cooperative. A few days after the season opened, some people were saying "Shirakawa is a good fishing spot this year," while others were saying "It's inconsistent, not great..."

The key to conquering Shirakawa, which was somewhat polluted with algae, lay in reading the river. What spots should I target? What color is the riverbed? Did my predictions come true...? See the video for the results.

From beginners to veterans, we offer advice and coaching to help you improve your ayu fishing skills, whether you want to learn the basics, how to choose fishing spots, have your fishing technique reviewed, or learn how to make rigs. Reservations are made via the calendar; we meet at the designated river at 8:00 AM, confirm your preferences, and fish intensively until 5:00 PM. Individuals and groups of friends are welcome. Bringing your own rods and clothing is also perfectly fine. (I can lend you one of my rods if you'd like to try it.)
