When I was 42 (almost 35 years ago), I ran the East London Half Marathon in 1.28. I remember thinking I’d never run that fast again. I was correct.

Just ran a 2.51 marathon after my first one in 3.36 exactly 2 years ago. Man progression is so satisfying

Incredible progress! My first marathon in 2018 was 4hrs 20mins, and yesterday i ran 3hrs 5mins in Brighton. My 11th marathon, still chasing the elusive sub-3. 🏃‍♂️🙏

Crazy how your debut was already Sub90. After 6yrs I still cannot achieve that

1:28 for a first half marathon is insane! Most people never reach that after years or decades of running.

The good thing on the track is that you can count the laps, you don't need precise GPS.

The Stockholm 2020 part looks like found footage from a low budget horror film where the main character goes missing.

Brilliant stuff Ben! What an incredible story, you’ve obviously worked hard at it so full credit to you.

1:28 for a debut half was still crazy fast - definitely a sign of things to come for you. Hope to see you become a full elite runner soon! You've definitely earned it.

My first half was a 2:15 about 18 months ago, and today I just ran a 1:56 during my long run. If I raced a half today I think I could just maybe run 1:50.

I love the honesty. There’s some disingenuous people on instagram that hide the amount of time of progression or athletic backgrounds that got them their fast times.

8:16 cheeky smile saying this lol

You have made incredible progress, it's inspiring. Good to see the bicycle paying dividends for you, it's an underrated tool.

Absolute GOAT 🐐 🙌 I love thr videos, its a great way to end a hard week off. Currently 16 years old and working towards a sub 20 5km, do you have any tips?

The shadow realm can be scary in a race, I did yesterday on a trail alone, eyes couldn't focus and my music went wavy...luckily a quick swish of gel and water brought the world back into focus. It's not fun almost passing out with running full tilt.
