Gday Billy I think I mentioned it before that you can get new wheel seals with a steel sleeve ( like a speedy sleeve ) that fits over your hub shaft, just incase your seal surface is damaged. I only run grease in all 16 of my trailer hubs and have never had any problem. Keep going Mate, you will win in the end. Take Care
If you ever run into leaking wheel seal again, try lucas hub oil. I was running synthetic gear all in the hubs of my trailer years ago and one of them leaked all the oil out overnight while I was parked. Apparently it wasn't leaking before. I parked because there was no mess except for the stream running straight down. I cleaned that oil off, filled the hub with Lucas. Hub oil and drove the rest of the week with no leak until I got home and changed the wheel seal
I hope that puts that hub problem to bed! Change out that water pump and you should be good to go and keep an eye on it! I like the way you tarped the load! Nice job, Billy! Saddle up and roll out!
Bill, it's absolutely beautiful out here in central Oregon this week. The high is the low 70's. Let me know if you stop at Gordy's truckstop here in La Pine. Mike
Billy google PD 680 cleaning fluid that's what we used to remove grease, hydraulic fluid In the Navy on Tom cats Subscribed to your channel after I watched that onion ld On the flat bed hope things Get smooth out two much Stress Billy boy cheers
IP closed in my hometown back in the late 90’s and it pretty much destroyed our little town. Then Johns Manville closed, then the tire plant. I think I parked around that IP once when I went down there. Probably will have something from there going to IP around Vicksburg before long.
Happy motoring to the Northwest. I vote for grease on all your trailer wheels, but would pull them every year to check the bearings. I had a whistling on my Pete that we couldn't narrow down for a month and finally found a pin hole leak in the air to air cooler. Have you noticed a loss of some power? Sometimes that what will show up with a leak. Be safe, Bill
Water bottle test for head gasket issue. May be why you’re losing coolant. TRP coolant at Kw was under $60 for a case 50/50 mix. Many have already covered wheel seal advice. For anyone else wanting and using an APU, get one that doesn’t connect to tractor coolant system.
i buy the wheel seals that come with an inner ring to mount on the hub first, then i dont have to worry about any burrs the hub which is usually the main problem, might want to give them a try
Hey Bill good video, might want to put couple shut off valves in the heater hoses to close off the APU from the rest of the truck engine. So you don't leak the anti-freeze / water mixture out on the ground. Take care and safe travels
with engine cold, soapy water spray the entire side of engine, start bubbles will show you the leak, on the trailer seal make sure the hubcap plug vent hole is open, if it is plugged the pressure will constantly blow the seal out no matter what lube you use,
To make sure the noise is not coming from the belts just take them off, turn on the engine and rev it up for a couple of seconds with the a/c on an d with it off. Make sure your windows are down
