Most people who live in Sudbury don't know about Burchell Lake because it's 12 hours away by car.

My buddy lives in a house that used to be the bank for the town we live in. The vault is still there and our other former neighbor has a bank note issued by the banķ before Canada had it's own currency.

Ontario is beautiful, up north, so many lake, surrounded by forest. Its very peaceful, and the air is pure.

Yes, there’s a really neat ghost town that supported a massive mill on southern Georgian Bay just north of Midland Ontario called Francesville that one would be interesting

I used to live in a town called Dalton....between Wawa and Chapleau..it was a lumber town until lightning struck the lumber mill. It burned to the ground. It was the only business and the town was abandoned within a month. Our family was the last to leave. The former residents moved to the next nearest town called Missinabi. Our parents decided to relocate to the Thunder Bay area.

Add this strange fact to the 'Balaclava story'. There are 2 towns called Balaclava, Ontario. The one mentioned above and also one by Meaford, Ontario.

At 0:36 that's a picture of the old funeral home in Dresden Ontario. It was remodeled into a family home for a television show. Dresden isn't abandoned or a ghost town.

Greetings from Bannockburn! We live just a 5 minute drive north of Eldorado. I've heard of most of these places, but that is because my girlfriend is a history nut, and tells me about all these places and has taken me to most of them.

If you like, I could get her to tell you the story of Bannockburn. Considered a ghost town, having much the same fate as Eldorado. However, there is an entertaining story about how the name of the town was changed from Mumby's Mills to Bannockburn.

It's pronounced May-doc, or at least that's what I was taught

If you're gonna make a documentary about Ontario towns, at least make an effort to pronounce the names correctly, so
lazy these people must be since I heard what seems like at least six grossly improper pronunciations, even
some Americans might have done a better job.:face-orange-frowning::face-orange-raised-eyebrow:

"Ontario is one of the most populated provinces in Canada"

Buddy, it is THE most populated province in Canada.

Why didn't you just say that? Did you even look at the numbers?
