Update:

Hax's open casket wake finished yesterday, and there were many people in attendance from pros like Hungrybox and Mew2King and Hax supporters like Technicals and TheManaLord. They gave oustanding eulogies, with Hungrybox and Mew2King saying that the Smash community needs to work harder to prevent tragedies like this from happening, and Tech calling out those responsible (which was met with applause). Leffen and Jisu (Hax's ex-girlfriend) were not present.

Hax's mother (who was running her sons account after his death to reach out to the community on X) was met with scrutiny since Hax's death was announced because (for some reason), people who spoke negatively against Hax thought he wasn't actually dead, and that his mother was actually Hax pretending to be her online. This was clearly proven false at the day of the funeral.

To this day, Hax's mother hasn't received an apology from those trying to rope her into a baseless rumor while she grieved the death of her son, r/smashbros didn't acknowledge Hax's funeral at all, r/SSBM says that Hax's death was co-opted by "right-wing grifters," and the Smash community is once again using Technicals as their boogeyman to absolve themselves of blame for their role in Hax's death.

EDIT: A few people present who attended the funeral posted on X that there were attendees at Hax's funeral (mostly from the social justic crowd) that walked out in the middle of TheManaLord and Technical's eulogies, calling them "alt-right" and "nazis," and blaming Technicals for using the wake to "fight woke," despite that being nowhere in his eulogy whatsoever and simply spoke facts.

The Smash community is garbage, and their treatment of Hax should never be forgotten.

Nick and Willy are stupid, if he "shuts up for 2 years" people will just forget he existed and never unban him. Hax did everything he could.

The thing that made my blood boil was that the people who contributed to hax's mental decline was present and spoke at hos funeral like they were really good friends with hax. It's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen.

As someone from the FGC since the mid 00s, behavior like this is why any community was slow to adopt smash players. Y’all are awful to each other, like genuinely some of the worst people. RIP Hax$, thank you for giving that community so many gifts worth remembering.

I genuinely wish that the next Smash Bros is explicitly created to be competitively unviable and for Nintendo to crack down even further on competitive events. The Smash fandom deserve nothing.

People refuse to understand that by the time he was banned, this wasnt just a game for him. It was the only career he'd ever known, his primary hobby, and his entire social circle. He had all of that taken from him for petty bs and then the community constantly dangled whether or not he could return for ages before locking him out again every time. Like he literally had SURGERY already to keep playing and then developed an entire controller when that didnt work so he could keep playing. This was his passion. Saying "move on" to someone who has lost so much, all hed ever known since he was 12, isnt especially useful

Its kind of telling where the commentary community is when instead of acknowledging the fact a man died, they're more focused on having the, "correct take" on what lead up to his death. Nick and Willy really made a blunder here.

I do fully believe that the community he longed to return to is dead. It isn't what it was. There's so many actual gross people in that circle too, and Hax is the one they go after?

That switch up with the Zain video is disgusting. His tweet was definitely for clout. He didn't care. We all failed Hax.

It always boggled my mind how Leffen was given a pass on literally everything, when other less prominent members of the community would have been banned multiple times over.

The flak HBox got for playing Jigglypuff was the canary in the coalmine.

Nick is actually rarted. I now understand why people are saying Willy and Nick are rarted. I have heard them have good opinions before, all of the sudden whenever it comes to Smash they lose 90% of their comprehension. I think the 2nd reply to Willy explained this situation perfectly. They moved the goal post on Hax$ and no one was saying a damned thing. I was so happy seeing him play in Mexico. All the pictures he took with those fake top players who won't open their yap for anything they will get them heat in their circle. Who holds the power, their inner circle or the audience and sponsors? It's so stupid, literally a prime example of, "With friends like them who needs enemies?"
