Seattle Mariners pitching prospect Thomas Higgins joins Mariners Down Under to tell the story of his journey into professional baseball.

Growing up in South Georgia, Higgins didn’t always receive the same exposure as some of the bigger-name high school prospects, but he continued to develop, earned his opportunity at Georgia Southern and eventually became a 15th-round selection by the Seattle Mariners in the 2024 MLB Draft.

Thomas takes us through his high school career, his friendship and baseball journey with JD Kaiser, earning his chance at Georgia Southern, battling back from injury, the surprise of being selected by Seattle and what he has learned during his first taste of professional baseball.

We also dive into his pitching arsenal, the transition from college starter to professional reliever, how the Mariners are helping him develop and where he hopes his baseball journey takes him next.

Another great opportunity to get to know one of the young arms coming through the Mariners organisation.

Subscribe to Mariners Down Under for more interviews with Mariners players, prospects, coaches, scouts and personalities from throughout the organisation.
