So glad you didn’t keep stopping it. It loses so much when they do that. Your reaction is spot on. Words can’t really describe this experience. I don’t think it’s in any language. It is what it is…..other wordly.
Cooley, I don't know that there has ever been a better reaction video of this masterpiece than you delivered. Since I discovered the Disturbed version, how someone reacts to it has become a way I decide whether that's someone I want to know and your reaction is gold.
The meaning of this song is deep and important. It took decades before I knew what this song is about. Back in the day, there was no Internet. This was a cool song but I didn't know what it meant. My friends didn't know what it meant. That was all the people in the world I had access to, so... I forgot about it and moved on with my life. Decades later, Google came along and one day I saw an article about this song and read it. Thank you Internet. OMG, I was blown away. I listened to the song again, thank you Internet, and it all made so much sense! So, 40 years later, I learned to love this song even more! Then this version came along. I learned about Disturbed's version, thanks Internet, and the anger makes so much sense. Now, I can't decide which version I like best so, I love them both! Paul Simon said that he considers this song to be Disturbed's song now, which is a huge compliment to them.
I was not a disturbed fan until I saw this video. The whole time I watched I just kept saying wow. The last part with his rage caused me to tear up. I love the original song but this had more depth and feeling. My hair on my arm still stands up when I hear it.
Ha, great way to end it. It's a cover of a famous Simon and Garfunkel song from decades earlier in the mid-1960s. People say that Simon & Garfunkel sounded the warning, and that Disturbed expressed anger that it still hasn't gotten better.
