I literally live with this suiter... He is such a massive sweetheart, and looks out for everyone he calls friend. He definitely did not deserve any of that flak... Makes me sad to see just how quick people are to be so unjustly hateful.

"Guys I'm pretty lonely, and that sucks"
:gets crucified for expressing a feeling

I never really got why people made fun of this suiter. I mean, I get why he was upset. But it’s no reason to mock him when he was speaking his mind.

my interpretation about the post was that he or she tried to point out his loneliness. like that he doesn't get invited to anything no one asked about his well being etc. etc. and i can totally relate with that
EDIT: not that they ment it in a entitled way

I know the suiter personally. A very good person and I know he didn't deserve the bad feedback he got.

Awe I know them he’s very sweet ngl he probably was in his feels a little bit. He’s a well known fursuit dancer. And a lot of the community hasn’t been very kind to him

To me, that tweet read like “It’s depressing getting seen all the time for what you have and not for who you are”.  Wish I could give the guy a hug, and sucks people are so bent on swinging back even when nobody else has swung yet.

Twitter has just become, or arguably, always has been, a place where the worst in people is brought out. I don't think it's worth most people's time to start drama about something or someone who, in reality, is just trying to be themselves and express how they feel. The internet itself is a very polarising world and honestly I don't think it's healthy to be on it all day every day. (as ironic as that may sound coming from a person who's been online for a relatively large amount of their life) At some point I think the best option is just to pull the plug.

Ah, bullying. something i thought furries were totally against

I feel this exact way with social media and trying to properly convey your feelings.

I had a moment like this with Threads, and some of the replies I got were actually flagged. I can’t imagine what horrible things were said at me, but it was just a moment of me talking about living with my brother, taken way too seriously. People see one post and judge a person’s entire personality on that. They don’t see the whole picture and it frustrates me that they think they know you and can tell you off for having thoughts that they don’t agree with.

I don’t understand why people interpreted it as “My cute fursuit isn’t getting me any friends wahhhh”. From the first moment I saw that I interpreted it as “My cute fursuit is causing me to have vapid interactions with people and limiting my ability to make friends”. They’re complaining about the fact that people are only seeing them at face value and not trying to get to know them better. Reminds me of how famous people have trouble connecting with non-famous people because people only wanna be friends with them because of their fame. How is that an invalid experience??

As someone with social anxieties, I tend to keep my distance from suiters I don't know.
I always believed that suiters often have their own personal "head space" when suiting, and the last thing I want to do is disrupt their flow.

I Try to stay respectful of suiters, and not bother them, when they are doing their thing. All suiters have their own reasons for putting on their head.
We never know what those reasons are, and as a result a lot of people, especially the socially anxious ones, will keep their distance.
I doubt I am the only one who feels this way.

I think that this has the side effect of some suiters feeling a bit isolated.
At the end of the day, Its difficult for everyone involved.

I don't know how so many got that vibe from this tweet. Honestly, unless you're taking it at face value, the mood I feel the author wants to convey far more, is that he feels lonely and wishes his suit was a better sign of being an open door to wanting to be a group vibe. And that, as someone autistic and often lonely, is something I can totally understand. When I heard about it I kinda wanted to give the author a hug ^^

mff is honestly one of the loneliest conventions I've ever been to and that was attending it with two friends. I socialized and had more fun on the plane there than at the actual convention. At local comic conventions there's people that will actually say hi i promise there's fun to be had out there

They all missed the point. Everyone always asks who's the fursuiter... But never HOW'S the fursuiter.

MFF'22 was my first con and was bullied and emotionally abused the entire time by the ones who invited me  along. Despite them telling me more than once "You did nothing wrong."
In fact, upon arrival I had to wait six hours in the hotel lobby because their flight was delayed and reservation is in their name, thus couldn't check-in without them. Realizing they wouldn't arrive until after midnight when everything is closed and they'd be tired and hungry. During this time, I walked to a nearby store in cold, windy weather and purchased a few bags full of snacks and drinks for us all.
After they arrived and checked-in, I told them to help themselves to anything they want. Never received so much as a "Thank you". Only a snarky remark "Never feed fake meat to a wolf." when I offered him to try a piece of meatless jerky.
So, I can understand how that person may have felt. I don't understand why this kind of behavior is so common and seemingly acceptable (by grown adults nonetheless). This literally describes every furry I've personality known/met. I haven't been to any such event/activity since. 😿

furrie's internalized issues (cough cough jealousy) are so bad that they'll twist and make fun of what other people say and do even if said thing is 100% harmless.

Literally taking "People only seem to like me cause I have a cool suit and not for who I am. I wish people wanted to hang out with me as a person" and making it out to be "oh people should Like me more, I deserve all the friends and attention cause of this cool suit i have." Like, the dude is genuinely really cool and sweet, but furries being furries, they had to make him out to be some narcissistic self centered individual for expressing what many people in the fandom, and life in general experience.

not just this instance, furs will make anything into a problem when its not.

also opus jumpscare

1:02 I get where people would think it’s a joke, it kinda reads like those “everyone says __, but they never ask how ___ is feeling.” Type of memes

It sucks that people start drama about literally anything.

You know, sometimes I’m glad I am just a ghost in the fandom. With hardly any friends or connections with this one. I watch how the fandom interacts with each other from like this 3 person perspective and oh my god, we treat each other like shit. If you can’t take the truth so be it but this fandom is really and I mean REALLY toxic.
