Early autumn trekking in Kamikochi.
This time, we'll introduce a scenic route that includes an overnight stay at Konashidaira Campsite and visits both Taisho Pond and Myojin Pond, two of Kamikochi's most famous spots.
With well-maintained trails, this is a recommended route that can be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to experienced hikers!
Please use this as a reference for your travel plans and route planning.
📍 Main Courses & Highlights
【Taisho Pond Course】(Walking distance: approx. 5km / Estimated time: approx. 2.5 hours)
・Konashidaira Campsite ~ Nishi-Itoya (Shinshu apple pie & Nozawana oyaki)
・Kappa Bridge ~ Azusa River promenade ~ Tashiro Marsh ~ Taisho Pond
・From Taisho Pond to Kamikochi Bus Terminal (*Free bus ride with round-trip ticket purchase)
【Myojin Pond Course】(Walking distance: approx. 7km / Estimated time: approx. 2.5 hours round trip)

🎒 Tips for your walk:
The route to Myojin Pond can be muddy and slippery after rain, so waterproof trekking shoes and comfortable clothing are recommended.
You can get free water at Kappa Bridge and the bus terminal – delicious water selected as one of Shinshu's famous and hidden springs!
💡 Tips for budget-friendly accommodation:
Konashidaira Campsite (tent camping): 2,000 yen per person per night / Bath 700 yen
Cabin stay: From 6,000 yen per person (more affordable than a hotel, highly recommended)
You can save money without difficulty by buying ingredients for self-catering at the shop or by focusing on local gourmet food you want to eat.
