The child claiming that she felt she would disappear is way more than "a little weird"

Anyone who moved out a month or two after should be investigated.

70s, 80s to now, nothing has changed. The world is a dangerous place. Parents, please dont let your children go out alone anywhere and at anytime.

Hearing from her father was heartbreaking.
I'm so sorry Art that you don't have the answers.

After the friend tried a second time and the mom didn’t look for her… No, not normal.  You can call on a neighbour or friend to watch the kids you have in the daycare, or you get those kids together and you go look! Something just isn’t right about the mother, I’m sorry. The older son disappearing and returning is too weird and never properly explained.

That cleaning guy is real one to look in to.

I firmly believe that publicized photos of the missing should include a non-smiling/scowling/frowning one, which is so much likelier to reflect the face of someone held against their will.

I don’t know how the mother was so calm and lacked emotions.

My gut feeling tells me that she never left the apartment building.

As a child being in your swim suit wandering around your building or outside is just typical child activity in the summer IT WAS THE 80s!, pedophiles heaven right there, someone was watching her saw the opportunity to take her and did god knows what, breaks my heart

Remember so well... Thank you for bringing Canadian cold cases to our attention. 🇨🇦

This case haunts me everyday. I pray Nicole is found 🙏

Weird that that cop says “kids just don’t go missing”. They do- all the time, and many, many are never heard from ever again.

Her saying she felt like she would disappear along with her mom's strange comments and claim that her son went missing too just makes me wonder if her mom was in on it somehow.

Human trafficking can be facilitated by parents too, unfortunately, even back in the 80s.

This is one of my earliest memories. I was 7. My family didn’t have a tv and on Saturday mornings my dad would read the Toronto Star. I was proud of my reading skills so I wanted to get some quality time with my daddy. My arms were too short to hold open the paper. I saw Nicole’s photo. Girls our age didn’t belong on the front page of the Saturday paper! I read how she just vanished. The possibility that a kid like me could just walk out the door and vanish horrified me. I was too young to have any clue how bad it could be but it still haunted my nightmares. I feel like our city lost our innocence that summer day.

The elevator can be very unsafe. I didn’t realize this until I moved to NYC, how many women and children are attacked in elevators, many kidnapped.

I was twelve when this happened. I lived across the highway in the East Mall apartment building. That summer and upwards to a year our parents wouldn't let us out of their sight. I'm 53 now and a grandmother of 4. Nicole's case still haunts me.  I was definitely over vigilant over my own kids because Nicole's case, and now my grand babies. Nicole wherever you are, I have lived a lifetime wondering what happened to you. You're still thought of regularly ❤

The cleaner stated that he saw Nicole in the lobby NAT 10:30 when her mother stated that Nicole left the apartment at 11:00.  The cleaner also stated that he was on his way to clean the lifts....maybe he did not see Nicole in the foyer...he came across her in the lift.  He would know the building well & places to hide her until here could move her out of the building.

the retired detective saying he thought he was being contacted because the case was resolved 😢 so devastating. I hope for everyone involved in this investigation that it can be resolved :(

Come on, creep. Have the guts to tell the police where to find this child!
