That freight train was a long one.

Did you notice the gates start to rise just before the second passenger train  approached? The two of them were a second away from beyond the circuit. Brilliant engineering on how the gates work together

I just glad them gates were smart enough to go back down after they notice another rail train coming

I just noticed there are seven tracks but that's cool just like Michigan Railroad Crossings

I have been to the location many times while driving. The Burger King parking lot is a good place to park the car. As I hear the high voltage lines buzz overhead.

I used to live right over the tracks at the first right.  In "Burnham"  I had a clear view of the trains and tracks.

One of the gate lights on the first crossing is broken they've got to fix that soon

I crossed these tracks a lot when I worked at Ford's Chicago Assembly Plant.

3 trains crossing

I just noticed that two other gates decided to go back down after the other train passes

Nice quiet General Signal bell for the huge crossing! It should have 5 WCH ebells

The most diabolical railroad crossing in my hometown

I ride that South Shore commuter train to Chicago everyday and this intersection is always busy with trains.

Fantastic as always! TY. ❤ Trains

I see a counterweight on one of the crossing bars.

Looks like the South Shore in Hegewisch.

The this a complicated crossing!😯😯

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

It's not "Hegwisch, IL", the crossing is actually located in the Chicago suburb of Burnham, IL. The Chicago neighborhood adjacent to Burnham is named Hegwisch.

Cool video.
