Very informative. You make things less scary to work on!

Thanks for posting this info, it’s very helpful. I am just installing my Photon 2 that I bought direct but will be contacting you for parts etc as I now know you handle these.

Now if only you could get a controller for the gen 1 photon. Dropping the parts supply support when the gen 2 can out is sad.

You inspire me to show how to service my particle accelerator!

Great video.

I'm stuck on how to remove the crankset so I can install a larger chainring. Do have a link to that procedure?

Any suggestions for a heat removable sealant for reassembly?

I think you previously loosened that ring, there is a metal incompatibility problem that causes the ring to gall and freeze in place. CYC recommend assembly with a copper based anti freeze grease. Still sucks for us early customers though.

My photon was returned from repair with the retaining cap on and the chain ring off. The retaining ring just spins the motor because nothing to hold. Appears to be seized or over tightened. Ideas on how to remove ?

I've put about 15000km on my photon and I'm having an issue now where sometimes when it's cold the ratchet mechanism doesn't engage properly. As in when I pedal it senses that and the motor spins up but it just maxes out to like 3k rpm and doesn't actually engage the sprocket. Not an issue once it's warmed up but it was pretty persistent on a cold day one time and I could basically only throttle. Also it has started making a bit of a sharp scratchy noise the last few days. Seems like it's just gunk in the ratchet mechanism and just needs a regrease as I've put a lot of km on it and have yet to service the internals. What do you think?

The problem I'm having is the sprag clutch. The sprag clutch keeps kicking in over every little bump or too much torque on the pedals no matter what pedal assist mode I'm in. Do you have a video on how to replace the sprag clutch?

Why does the spatula need to be food grade?

have you ever removed the chainring while in place on the bike?  can you demonstrate how to stabilize the motor on a table in order to apply both the chain whip and unscrew the chainring?  so far mine will not budge.

Have you been inside a Stealth Gen 3 yet?

Hi Jonny ate you familiar with the major or most common issues with the bafang m620 motors

Hey bro, your video popped up on my utube feed because I follow you and watched several of your videos over the years.

Have you done a video on how to service/degrease etc the Bafang BBS02b or the BBSHD and if you   have could you please add the link?  Thanks.

Mr. Nerdout, my child has a jetson dirt bike. It has power and you can hear the motor trying to run but bike won’t move. Also, it won’t roll backwards. I’m assuming a gear or bearing broke in the rear wheel?

Nylon gear like Bafang ?

I have heard the photon's have overheating issues than can damage the electronics. Is this a concern? I am considering one for my next build as I want torque sensing.
