The one caveat with the E46 is that you really don't want an M56 SULEV model like the one in the video... it's got a fully sealed metal fuel tank, so when the fuel pump dies you're either having to swap in all the non-SULEV stuff (good luck doing that in a state with strict emissions like California) or paying close to $10k for a new tank at the BMW dealership. The automatics in those cars can be a little sketchy too, so in my mind, it's better to pay a few bucks more for a 325i 5-speed with the M54 or a 330i/5 or 330i/6, all of which came with the regular M54. That's just my two cents as somebody that's owned 4 E46's and works on them for a living.

I flipped three e36 people thought the head gasket was blown, and they were overheating but they all just didn’t know how to bleed the radiator

I used to own an e46 330xi. Every time i put chinese parts on it, it didn't work or they crapped out at 6 months to a year later. espically springs and struts. I can't believe you went and bought more rims instead of refinishing those. Then you could have used the rest of the money for the other 10,000 dollars it needs in parts lol. the OEM stuff does last much longer.

do the golf tee mod on the exhaust flap on the e46 (you pull out the vaccum hose and stick a golf tee / screw into it ) and force open the right flap with a metal rod at all times

I did similar with a 318Ci E46, £300 on ebay, new fuel sender, fixed in an hour flat. Drove 7yrs but eventually I just had to get an N54 335i E93 and now I'm fixing that up from a good starting place.
