"Surely this will NOT be a Stun Deck" - Well it will be a combo deck that turbos out Majesties and Vanities Fiend under Domain

@Rose-Zx7 1 year ago

That 1 guy in chat near the end saying

Runick Monarch with 1 Hugin in ED
Lmaoooo

Its so funny tho
And Josh probably will try it

The fact that they mention the OG Monarchs and the trap got the same effects, in my book is a goated cards design.

Floodgates are okay if they have aura and hype moments

I don't remember the actual lore for Monarchs but I've always seen Ehther and Erebus as the top dogs, while everyone else is below them. Seeing Eidos climbing through the ranks and reaching the Top 3 feels kind of nice, but I sure hope Edea does that as well.

Even if it isnt a tier 1 meta dominating deck, it will be fun to use the deck again

Personally from reading these cards it seems like you get 2/3 extra tribute summons during the turn if you run 8 cards in your ED then tribute summon Zaborg the Mega Monarch and have cards in your extra deck that can do stuff like Garura to get positives as well as ripping 8 cards from their ED then you can do erupt / domain plays and the new trap will help the deck even more these new support cards are scary especially going first sadly its going to be a stun deck

So we have two camps:

MBT, Lithium: THESE CARDS MAKE ME WET.

Farfa: This is cursed.

I really think that they should have retrained the Monarchs to focus on going second and being a removal deck. Would have been cool to see a Kaiju style deck where they have quick effect versions of their iconic effects. Instead, we just have stun turbo. At least the trap is really cool.

Funnily enough, there is a monarch associated with tessera : tesseract hydradrive monarch, a link 4 from vrains

I started playing Caius and immediately fell in love with them, Caius being my favorite, and seeing this new support makes me super happy

So, just to make sure i'm understanding this:

Tessera searches the vassals.
The new Eidos Monarch searches your 2800 ATK monarchs.
Scheme can search Majesty's Fiend, Cybernetic Magician (lmao), and the OG monarchs.
Rebellion is Bingo Machine GO!
Culmination is basically Triple Tactics Talent on a spell speed 2 card.

Domain is not cringe, what is cringe is when opponents turns after the 1st turn, you cannot play.

I don't think the board breaker is in Culmination but withiin Eidos himself. His ability to steal traps/spells from the grave allows us Monarch players to keep quick access to Stormfront whenever he's normal/special summoned. I think he's the key to breaking boards on second, though I do feel we'll need to ascertain the right loop to get there.
