My favorite helicopter! It ranks even higher than the multi-Million dollar twin turbines I fly. I began my helicopter career in this wonderful machine and it will always hold a special place in my heart!

I soloed 54 years ago this month. Loved that little helo. My instructors nickname was "The Screaming Eagle"....unforgettable.

U.S. Army primary flight training, then a bit more for my CFI certificate. Very fond memories. Thanks for keeping them alive, relevant and desired! Fort Worth!

Great Memories achieving one of my all-time bucket list items: Earning my Private Pilot License for Helicopters, July 2003. No regrets about not chasing the CFI route and moving into the Commercial side of the flying industry. LOVE that machine!!!

I was a Primary Helicopter instructor at Ft.Wolters ,TX between Viet Nam tours. Flew about 500 hours instructing basic( first 50 hours for new students),TH-55As. And, we had six TH-55Cs we could just go fly whenever we wanted to. The C model had a longer tail boom, longer rotor blades and I believe it had more power, maybe 200 HP? Anyway, got about 50 hours in that model. Loved it!

I have only 1 hour in a Schweizer but i thought it had the most comfortable controls of any helicopter I have flown. I would love to have one.

I took an hour of instruction on a 300 about 40 years ago. It left a lasting impression, still to this day. I flew fixed wing at the time, but nothing compared to that experience in the chopper.

The TH-55 is what I cut my aviation teeth on. Love it! Solo in April 1969.

Leaned in this exquisite helicopter (( Hughes 300C )) without a throttle correlator ...lol I think it made me a better operator developing hand/foot coordination. Easy to fly, very reliable and super responsive. Simply just fun.
