Huge shoutout to Flashgitz for unleashing another episode of pure, unfiltered chaos. Somehow every Space King chapter manages to outdo the last, and reacting to these with all of you is always an absolute blast.

Space King 4 arrives in glorious 4K — and this episode completely wiped both of us out. 😂⚫💀
I went into the recording already feeling rough, and by the time we wrapped, my voice had been fully sacrificed to the Warp. A true Kingsmas offering, I suppose!

And since it is Kingsmas, I wanted to give something back — in this video I explain exactly how YOU can win my “No Girls Allowed” Relic Box Set from FlashGitz, a $149 collector’s item I’m giving away to one lucky viewer.

I’m also a proud FlashGitz Patreon member, and supporting them has made reactions like this even more meaningful. If you want your name in the credits of future Space King episodes like I do, definitely check out their Patreon as well.

As a Grey Knight fan, watching FlashGitz warp Warhammer into something this unhinged will never stop cracking me up. Grab a drink, settle in, and dive into the madness with me — this episode goes places.

If you want to support Flashgitz directly, check out their Patreon (and maybe get your name in the credits):

Rudolph, the red-nosed psycho
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even say it glowed.

All of the other psychos
used to shout and call him names.
They even banned poor Rudolph
from all of the psycho games.

Then one foggy Kingsmas eve
Space King came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my slay tonight?"

Then all the psychos loved him
as they shouted out with glee:
"Rudolph the red-nosed psycho,
you'll go down in history!"

Definitely some good parallels with 40K.

War Priest is clearly the Psycho Warrior term for Chaplain, and the Star Defender one is basically Santa, with his holy scrolls resembling his beard.

A Misfit is basically the same as a Black Shield in the Deathwatch of the Ordo Xenos.

Rudolph, despite his ugly nose, is basically a Librarian!

Ironically for such a short episode we get a lot of character growth especially from the captain even from the entire space king faction that outraged encourages rebellious freak outs.

The second Rudolph starts to panic from the screw up he immediately assigned him the position to undo his mess up even after seeing his mutated nose it was more of shock reflux and he was trying his best not to be a ass.

We got a lot of screentime for Hatemonger in all three previous episodes, plus the "special mini-episode" that was all about Space Monger, so there isnt really a need for a Hatemonger-specific episode yet. Hatemonger receives his best characterization while him reacting to other characters. While Episode 3 was mostly about Bryce vs Terry, it had Chestnut and Hatemonger going off alone in a parallel story thread and finding the God A.I., so it really was an episode focussing on four characters (Bryce, Terry, Chestnut, Hatemonger), with Captain getting a few scenes too (reacting to the Time Wizard, ordering the new Imaginator, talking to the Command Skull, reacting in frustration to Bryce's feud with Terry).

Hermie is definitely a refference to the Guilliman and Yvraine joke.

I'm 3 months late, but besides the whole rudolph the red nosed reindeer reference, Yukon has another layer, he is a misfit because he's a Capitalist and his Legion is the Space Soviet Union. Also, speaking of Legions, Hermie's legion isnt named, but its basically the Dentist Legion.

@Greywander87 9 months ago

It's crazy to think about how many different legions we've seen, and how there probably is a show bible somewhere with at minimum a short description for each of these legions. What's shown to the audience is really just a small part of the total canon, with most of it being kept only for the writers and creators so they can maintain consistency in the setting. That isn't to say the lore won't be expanded upon later when these legions get more screen time, but when that does happen, you'll likely be able to look back and see some of the traits and quirks of that legion being foreshadowed in these early episodes.

Now, what I'm really curious about is why Bryce and Hatemonger are working with the Star Defenders legion when they clearly have their own legions. There was a parallel to the mixed legion squad seen in the intro of episode 2, where the other squad that wanted the candle also had a mixed legion squad. I'm also not quite clear on Chestnut and the medicae; apparently we have seen some other medicae in episode 3 and they had the same colors as Chestnut, and we also know from episode 2 that medicae are not considered full psycho warriors and are "free agents", meaning that medicae probably function more like their own legion that loan members out to other legions, which in turn makes me wonder if there are other medicae legions, or legions that directly integrate medicae instead of borrowing them from outside.
