You: You could read the phone book and still send me to sleep Me: Ok! 🤗 Good evening and welcome to ‘Reading the phonebook to send you to sleep’ 💤 Guess what? This was the only London business phonebook I could find AND it just happens to be from one of the biggest years of my life. When I left school and launched myself into the big wide world with no qualifications, no job and a dream to move to London. I arrived there the following year. ALSO at 23:57 you may hear a bit of a smile in my voice as I realise I’m reading the word Evelyn street. This was totally by chance. The Black Horse pub was directly next door to where I used to live 🤯
If you’d like to hear more of these I’d be happy to oblige. Maybe a whispered one next with no intro to the book, just straight in? Maybe less paper sounds and just reading? Let me know. It’s a purely mundane, calm your mind and send you to sleep sort of a vibe 💜 Sweet dreams my friends, rest well, with love always, Emma ✨

Ok, after realizing that 1995 was more than 30 years ago, I desperately need some calming ASMR.

I grew up in a tiny town in Indiana. Population 250. It was surrounded by corn fields. When we would receive the phone book every year, it was quite a treat for me to get something new to look at. I would pour over the business section for at least a week. This brings back those memories of when life was just a bit easier. Thank you very much for this.

it’s been 11 years since i started watching Emma - was in school, moved to college, and now working for the last couple of years. i find myself coming back to this channel when nothing else knocks me out 😴💜

Completely different subject - but would you ever consider putting together a small LEGO set for a vid? You could sort the pieces a la your Button Sorting video and then put the project together ❤️it would be perfect for an unintelligble whispers vid

I kinda miss having to use the phone book and yellow pages. Using a landline to call people too. Good old days!

Love it when your videos are in soft spoken. Really calms me. Thank you for doing what you do❤

And THIS is why I love Emma!!! She can make us laugh, tingle, smile & fall asleep peacefully on a cloud of soft breathy whispers! ❤😻❤️😹❤️

I mean this as a compliment when I say this was a perfect boring video. Emma's voice is, as always, so lovely and soothing to comfort my mind. While the content itself was monotonous enough, my brain couldnt get too invested in what was being said and get distracted from trying to calm down before sleep. ❤

This was amazing! I'd happily take a part two and three of this series down the road! ☎😴

I was too young to have many memories of our phonebooks here in the US. but I do remember what ours looked like and I lowkey miss that thing so much. it was always hanging out around our house phone connected to the wall that is still infact up & working today.

When I was a kid, we used to use last years phone book for starting fires in the hearth. I don't know what it was about that very crinkly lightweight paper that was used in those phone books, but nothing burned quite as well as those pages did. Great fire starters.

Next to the hearth was always a bin with cut dried wood and the old phone book.

@beccaa6639 7 months ago

Can you please do more paper crinkle/tapping i love those ones. The chocolate tapping video was the best sleep I’ve ever had 🙌🏻

@FeeChloey 6 months ago

Omg the tapping scrtaching on the book ! 😍 could you do a video no talking tapping and scratching on this book ??
Also, I love how slow you are it’s so relaxing. ❤

@robspedding9520 7 months ago

You've both helped me relax and make feel old at the same time!

I love this video. I hope it can become something that happens occasionally. The concept makes me smile (because of the compliment "a voice that can read a phonebook" but also because I love listening to voices in ASMR more than I like any other sounds. And your whispers are the most soothing that I have found in my (admittedly brief) 8 years of ASMR listening. This video, your efforts, mean a lot in this gesture. Thank you.

Takes me back. A phone book wow

Wonderful video, Emma. I’m several hours late watching this, but it was definitely worth the wait. I absolutely love that you took what has become almost a meme in the comment section of your videos and turned it into this amazingly relaxing video. I guess everyone who has been commenting that over the years was right. Everything sounded wonderful in this. I especially enjoyed the book tapping, page turning and fabric rustling sounds, as well as all of the reading in this, so thank you for including all of those. Lovely video as always. Keep up the great work.
