My dad played trumpet for the OSU marching band all four years he attended the school. Glad to see in the comments I’m not the only one that gets a bit teary watching this, has to be one of the greatest pregame traditions in all of sports.
Script Ohio is actually based on a French revolutionary song called régiment de sambre-et-meuse which talks about a French regiment that knew their fate was death but still continued to March to preserve the name of Freedom
70 years old now. I watch this band AS OFTEN AS I GET THE CHANCE! Believe this: I have “NEVER” failed to shed some tears watching the ramp entrance, the drum major’s entrance and ‘top of the hat’ touch, SCRIPT OHIO and hearing Carmen Ohio 😊 💥🏈GO BUCKS🏈💥 —— beat ttun ——
Truly TBDBITL I get chocked up every time I see them! I grew up a couple miles from the Stadium near W.N. Broadway and Kenny Road, on Saturdays we could hear the band and the cheers from the stadium...those are memories
I’m watching in the UK - we have nothing like this (that I know of) & having watched quite a few different bands on YouTube in my opinion Ohio is by far the best. If I ever get to visit America I would love to attend a Ohio game.
far from an Ohio State fan, but "Script Ohio" just cannot be beat. How hard they must practice. It must be harder to get into and stay in the OSU band than into the football team! Would love to see SO in person on day.
I'm Buckeye Born and Bred and watching them do Script OHIO and Carmen Ohio afterwards will always give me chills and a tear down my eyes. #GoBuckeyesForever
