The last few weeks filmed in and around Hillsborough, NC. The jungle has returned, along with much higher temperatures and humidity! It's been rewarding keeping an eye on local patches in the hope of something interesting popping in during migration. The frequent visits down to Maple View Farm lagoon paid off with records of Mississippi Kite, Bobolink, Bank Swallow (AKA Sand Martin) and Snowy Egrets. Had my closest ever view of a White-rumped Sandpiper at Lake Crabtree the other day FYI! Such a privilege to spend quality time with this epic long distant migrant that breeds high up in the Canadian Arctic after spending the winter as far south as Tierra del Fuego and the Falkland Islands/Malvinas. Due to editing time pressures, I've included much of the human made background noises to illustrate that birds live in the same spaces as we do. Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!
