I am not a plumber but as a handyman I fine blocked plastic pipe because the plumbers run pipes unclipped underneath floors The sluge settling at lowest point. Once cleaned out and clipped problem has never returned .not having the right tools I back flush one radiator at a time then run boiler with cleaner 4 hours then flush again .not the best but has worked for me. Thank for my education π
Alan in my 45 years in the industry I never found that radiators rust from the inside unless their was an excess of oxygen , normally a leak of water so the header tank was filling or more normally because the system was pumping over .This Will cause radiators to pop in double quick time .My point is if radiators are rusting and getting pinholes there is a fault on the system . Likewise if you castle effect in radiators so only the side and top are getting hot this is not normal in a system that is working properly. The same for the blocked copper pipe and the blocked cold feeds .I have seen this but if it was just normal it would be all over the copper pipework in the system but it is usually to do with the cold feed set up normally a cold feed will be blocked just for inches around the position where it joins the system . It's something happening around that particular area . I still look after one system I put in 20 years ago . Cold and hot flush carried out and no problems with the boiler in that time My normal job was repairing relitivly new boilers and systems that I doubt had never been cleaned properly after install . Perhaps that's why we were changing ideal Isas after five years because they were uneconomical to repair .Keep up the good work , cheers .
Enjoyed this vid and the comments/questions. i love questions, and even though some folks might do a face slap at reading them it is always better to ask than to feck up. i would rather be asked a stupid question to someone not asking and making a very expensive mistake. there is no shame in it. i really need a apprentice.
Nice one Allen , I was once told by a so called water treatment specialist that if you put 1 gallon of white vinegar per 50 l of water content in a heating system it will prevent rust forming and causing blockages , I have never tried this but just wondered if any one else had.....! cheers mate....π
