palmguessr day 2! rainbolt is right, the palm trees seen at 3:22 are not the same ones we saw yesterday in sri lanka. though the tall trees with the slender trunk and pinnate leaves look similar to a coconut palm, it is actually an areca palm (Areca catechu). this palm is native to the philippines, but it is widespread over the tropics due to areca nut/betel nut cultivation. this location also features a banana palm (Musa sp.) in the bottom left corner. despite their name, banana palms are not “true” palms because they are not part of the palm family, arecaceae. banana palms are also featured in the taiwan location at 4:40. bananas are an important part of the agricultural industry in taiwan as bananas are their most exported fruit.
As an English person there's nothing more English than that bramble hedge in the Leafguessr round, it's one of those things you probably only know if you've seen it IRL
