I personally think those Proto Mimics were made by M2, they looks so weird and mismatched because when attempting to act like Edwin while making them, M2 didn’t really know how to make them like himself.

I think that is part of the reason he took the Data Diver for himself. I can’t think of a reason for why he would make more of himself but I just don’t see why Edwin would make the Proto Mimics and have them look like how they do

Finally someone noticed it. But not all. Ruin DLC is also the same SOTM gameplay storyline again. Cassie is put in the exact same position as Arnold earlier. Dancing with the same M1 and M2 to fix M2 after so many years later. The two Mimics just "grew up".

I'm currently subscribed to the idea of an older mimic model dressed up as Moon luring David towards it in the Storytime Showroom before the globe fell on top of him, even if it has its holes.

I feel like Sleepy moon was another failure that didn’t work properly.

It’s complicated, but the only idea is that Mimic 1 had an older endo variant, that was made less scary with the Endo we see in ruin, Mimic AI was moved too the Endo we see in game but this old Endo is left down there for parts.  But do to someone (we don’t know) this Mimic is re-activated and puts on the sleepy moon suit, wandering around trying to be in character.

What if the mimic we see in ruin is m2 trying to build another body for himselve and finds away to upload his proggram in that body and the reason he does that is because parts of his old body start to fall apart also he would know how to build stuff since he mimics edwin at this point

The three boxes at the end of moon.exe tells the secret of the Mimic the full story of David’s end:

David wandered into the factory from the outside playground on his December birthday, white tiger in hand.

**He spelled his name in the stars

David traveled to the story-time showroom where the giant letter blocks are. And threw his ball up into the air.

**He bounced the moon

David bounced his ball off the faulty giant moon prop above him, causing it to fall and crush him causing the sink hole and coming to rest in the basement below.

IMPORTANT: where do you find David’s ball collectible? Inside the crushed moon head prop in the basement.

There's this theory from Denarii where the Ruin Candy Cadet story is actually the M1 who is the first endoskeleton who was thrown away in the basement because it started malfunctioning like with the other products from Edwin. Still active, it would later put on the Moon costume and start mimicking the lullaby from the starved employee. Before his death, David was actually in the storytime showroom, not at his playground which was Edwin's claim. He would hear the lullaby from the basement, go to the basement, find M1 and then get crushed by the giant moon structure that fell down making his death either an accident or a murder from Fiona who was in the M2 endoskeleton at the time. That theory is mostly due to David's ball being inside the giant moon structure and makes the assumption that M1 and M2 are the endoskeletons, not F10N4 and the violent Mimic AI who are different programs separate to the Mimic program. It's a bit far fetch but you get the idea. I don't personally believe this theory but it is a theory i keep hearing about.

Oooh I do like the Ultron reference. Maybe this was why she ignored watching David outside to instead bake the cake(since Edwin is surprised M1 made the cake).

I think it was Afton.

All of this is just a retelling of the original story. Instead of the puppet failing to protect charlie, we have M1 and David. Afton could've lured david into the loading area in promise of an adventure, just as mutch as he stabbed Charlie in the classic story.

I think the mimic in ruin is the same mimic as m1 and m2. There has always only been one mimic. Otherwise it's would be secret of the mimics.

I love that not only was SotM a really fun game full of lore, it's helped to enhance Security Breach and Ruin. Truly looking forward to a DLC 🤞

I discussed the Endo inside of sleepy moon in reddit but they told me he has no mechanical sounds and it's just his jingles

This makes SO much sense, great theory!

Perhaps M2 stuffed Edwin into Sleepy moon and 'fixed' his legs. That might be why we hear mechanical noises. That seems like a terribly ironic fate that M2 would get a kick out of.

At the end, when the Mikic takes the Data Driver, it holds it like his tiger soft toy. I always see people saying it attaches the driver to itself, but I don't think that's what it's doing.

I really like this theory. I look forwards to what you make next. I can pretty easily believe this one.
