I’m from the Cleveland area. Thank you for doing this deep dive into our great state. It’s so sad to see how drugs have altered the the lives of so many. Bringing light to these societal issues/trends is the key to changing the trajectory. I really appreciate the historical background mixed with the anecdotal/personal interviews

I'm just thankful that my states policymakers are focused on the right things... like who can use which bathrooms.

The man with the black, green and red hat seated in the barber chair is reading his own book 😂

The evil that exists in the pharmaceutical industry is unreal.

I lived in Ohio from 1959 to 1976, Dayton area. The quick rundown at the beginning was quite accurate. My dad worked at NCR.

Joined the Army at 17, never looked back.

Drugs were always here. When the mills left, the drugs stayed behind.

Yup I was on Vicodin, Percocet, oxy IR. It got to expensive for me to get on the street and I didn’t try fentanyl and once I did that nothing was the same and it was the only thing that made me feel better and not in pain. Luckily I got the help I needed and just went over 2 years sober with suboclade injections. You can get through it if you want to and have the mindset to do it.

I lived in Canton/Akron area 1988-1992. I drove through in 2018 and it was unrecognizable. In general, the once rural outskirts and the middle class neighborhoods were replaced, had their hey day, got full of drugs, and fell apart. I rented a small house just over the Akron line. There was a Mennonite farm across from me. Now, it’s all gone. It was half abandoned strip malls, on-the-decline suburbia, people all strung out, bouncing around, high as kites.

Small towns in Southern Ohio are still struggling. We need help. But instead, we get labeled, we get police and government corruption. There's no escape

Great reporting! I feel like I'm finally finding out what's actually happening in our country by watching your reports. Well done! This is important stuff.

I just recently watched the show snowfall, it's literally about they exact scenario that older man in the convenience store was talking about. The crack boom made young men wealthy, it also sent them to jail and made everyone around them hopelessly addicted. It was a brutal ass show, very sad and in they end the main character had nothing. If you're fascinated bye the subject of drugs, I'd give it a watch.
