Matsumoto, Shinshu, has long been known as a "land of prosperity." Matsumoto is famous for the National Treasure Matsumoto Castle, but its location also has an intriguing geographical and historical background. This time, I explored Matsumoto Castle in all directions—east, west, north, and south—to find the answer to the question, "Why was Matsumoto Castle built there?" I would be very happy if this video inspires even a little bit of interest in Matsumoto.

From "Zenkoji-do Meisho Zue" (Illustrated Guide to Famous Places Along the Zenkoji Road):
"~ Lined with merchant houses, this is the largest city in the province (Shinano), known as Shinfu. It is said that thousands of loads of freight arrive and leave every day, carried by cattle and horses. It is truly a prosperous land."

[Notes]
As I learn various things throughout my long life, I hope to not only take in information, but also share my experiences and knowledge with everyone. I'm not an expert myself, just a curious ordinary person, and I understand that in fields like geography and history there are many different theories and the content is often updated, so if you have any opinions or thoughts about the information in the video, please let me know!
Also, please be careful when drinking spring water if you have little experience of drinking it.
