Welcome back to the channel. In this video I'll be hiking Wainwrights Coast to Coast, a 192 mile national trail that starts on England's north west coast and finishes on the opposite side of the country.

Passing through 3 national parks - the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors each with their own distinct scenic landscapes - providing a hiking challenge that will live long in the memory

So join me as I embark on this epic Coast to Coast journey!

The way you went at ~11:30 was the original route - the new route which you went on, the cycle path, means you don't need to cross the A595 (but you miss the walker statue) and the original and new route converge about 0.5mile on the cycle route. Where you turned right into Moor Row (12:40), you can stay on the cycle path and take a right about 0.25 mile on - this will avoid the road walking coming out of Moor Row where traffic can be bad as it is a common rat run to and from Sellafield - you crossed this route 13:13. The felling work in the plantation before Dent is complete so you can get through as long as they are not loading the lumber.

I did the diversion around Dent in June and while I'm sure it would have made some great content it was at this point the rain started and made any filiming difficult. Some people were risking it still going over Dent, but didn't take the risk.

Looking forward to watching the rest of the series as it brings back some memories.

Well done. The turn before the farm was a nightmare for me. 10 min 20. no signs when I did it. Then so many missed the path that branches down to the underpass and went on round on the forest path. Dent was the 1st time you knew you were about the enter the Lakes. I had 40 mph winds and then torrential rain from the top of Dent. Ennerdale was like your previous video. I'm going to do the C2C next year. Pretty sure I am going to wild camp.

Brilliant mate. We did the Coast2Coast exactly 10 years ago. We were sitting here at home in New Zealand telling you where to go. You missed the convenience store at Cleator. Never the less, it is a great walk. Cheers.

Great video. It’s really good to see different perspectives of this as people really only show the popular parts. It’s great to see the costal section. I really want to do coast to coast but it’s nerve wracking, mainly fear of getting lost and wild camping 😂. Looking forward to watching the rest of the videos, great achievement!

I am thinking of doing hikes like this, when I retire in a yeras tme, aged 64.
For me I am hapy to stroll/hike it, but thinking what are the expenses such as do you have to use camp sites, how much do they cost for a niht, did you stay in any over accom, such as bed and breakfasts.

I enjoyed that, thanks. I will be having a crack quite soon but, despite losing 30lbs in preparation, my injury list means I have likely bitten off more than I can chew so I might need to look into taking taxis on 2 or 3 of the longest days. I bought new boots but notice you did it in shoes, do you still think shoes are the way to do it? How much water did you set off with each day? Thanks.
