After 62 yrs of independent, that is where we are, 500km takes 24 hrs! Sad indeed!

in the 90s, there were four trains running. it was convenient. there was express & ordinary

At least cleaner than Indian trains.

My grandfather was an operator in the 70's, it seems to have lost its wonder since then.

I took this train in 1980 and it arrived on time. Was served a great tasty supper. Worse is the TAZARA train I took this from Kapiri Mposhi to Dar, no food on train, no water, and arrived 24 hours late.

The speed can improve to 80 - 160 Km/h if the standard guage railway is rehabilitated

Last time I travelled by Zambia Railway was 1980 ,Lusaka to Livingstone. All was okay

Thank you... the video is excellent and very clear.

Well, the Train Conductor should announce 📢 at every station they reach so that passengers are aware where they have reached

Zambia railways, UBZ was very good including the mines until they were privatised. They miserably died in the management of the so called experts.

Oh wow one hour break? You can even Visit some for 20 minutes

The SGR between Dar es Salaam and Dodoma same distance as Livingstone to Lsk takes 2 hours

Finally someone has done a video on a train we only see from the bus and plain

I last traveled from Lusaka to Livingston in 2006. We did not pay for the sleeper I was cold.

Well done mathues for this videos

The Euro Bond was injected into Zambia Railways.Where did the money go.The stations are terrible no comfortable waiting areas no phone charging ports the trains are in a bad shape and the rail lines are not good there is a Management problem at Zambia Railways the entire management needs to be fire it is a National embarrassment

One day I will also have the same experience...

There is need to have speed train unlike 24 hrs for a distance of 500KM

I once worked on Mukuba Express Tazara and it was marvelous, clean and ever running water but I don't know now because someone has said the opposite but I'm speaking from experience. I worked as a Train Hostess and other departments as well.

I can never board the train when I don’t have a seat.
