The reveal in ch 4 that Kris is using us as much as we're using them completely flipped what we thought about the game on its head. Crazy stuff.

Just a correction, Noelle DOES notice. She knows them so well she already brings up their strange behavior in chapter 1.
She also questions it multiple times and even talks to Susie about them not acting like their normal self, both in the weird route and the normal route.

Kris lost control of their body But at least kris got Purple dragon best friend out it, so  there’s a sliver lining for them.

My random thought is that the reason Kris is eating a bunch while free of us is that we forget to feed them while we control them. Remember kids, you have to feed your vessel.

berdly deserves more credit, his fight is harder in the snowgrave he genuinly locks in cus he senses noelle is in danger

The snowgrave route from Noelle's perspective is wild though. Like for all she knows, her childhood friend just got possessed by a demon that's trying to hurt everyone and that's the most horror movie thing ever

The whole “your choices don’t matter” feels like a red herring in the same vein of how Flowey’s “This world is kill or be killed” where, sure. You can follow what is being said. But since when did we ever listen to what Flowey said? We just prove him wrong. Same thing goes for Deltarune. Whoever said that choices didn’t matter is obviously full of shit, so you can make your own choices. What choices do you have? Well, I see three. Play the game as intended, play the game as intended but seek out the little mysteries that lurk throughout the game (the secret bosses) or be weird.

A thought I enjoy, is that Kris's room being completely bare, and Toriel's door being locked are related. That Kris asked Toriel to take all their stuff and keep it locked away.

We know Kris is a private person. They don't like playing the piano FOR Noelle. People had been assuming that when Kris failed to play the piano at the hospital, it was a matter of them being incapable while we're inside them, and they were upset about it. But that's not the case.

They can play the piano with the Soul in them just fine. They do it in Chapter 4, at Susie's request... and ONLY at her request. Only for her. They otherwise play the piano poorly, not because they're incapable, but because they have no interest in doing it for us.

They don't want us to know about their life. They don't want us to share in their private moments. When sitting with Susie by the lake, and selecting the option to tell Susie what you're thinking; Kris talks with their mouth closed, because I don't think they want us to be privy to their thoughts.

So if Kris knew the Soul was coming, knew it was going to control them; I think they would've pulled Toriel aside beforehand. Asked her to keep all their things in her room, and keep the door locked. I think Kris normally has things on those shelves. Pictures, books on demon summoning, knives they've made out of weird materials, art they made with their brother. And all of it, is THEIRS. Not ours. So they're keeping it to themselves.

There is something about us that I've seen nobody mention... the fact that we don't (or are at least supposed to not) like possessing kris either. We literally create a custom vessel for ourselves, and someone else (who I believe to be john mantle) threw us into kris, against our will.

One thing that's probably gotta really sting for Kris is that because the soul has been more interested in getting to know more and more of the world, they've been forced to interact with others more. Others seem to really like our interactions with them...

Or in other words, you as Kris are not just being piloted around, but people prefer the new you. The soul is a better you than you are, and that's gotta hurt.

Undertale also hinted to the idea that Frisk wasn't a vessel we had full control of. While Frisk doesn't act out on their own as often, they can control what expressions they make. One example that stands out is during Undyne's friendship segment where we pick out a drink. When we point the spear to the soda, Undyne mentions that Frisk doesn't look happy. Frisk being their own person doesn't seem as apparent because they're younger and likely don't have as strong of an attachment to morals and individuality.

Probably the most notable thing about our possession of Kris is that it clearly wasn't intended from the start. We were supposed to control a "vessel" specifically designed to be a blank slate, but a different "voice" apparently hijacked our connection with "Gaster" and forced us into the body of Kris. The interface we use to control Kris is clearly not designed for a vessel with their own agency, and Kris has repeatedly used that to either slip through loopholes or do some really funny things (see Kris' implied and hilariously baffled and annoyed "Berdly? BERDLY?! Berdly?!" response when the player picks that option when Ralsei asks who Kris is taking to the festival). It's obvious that someone hijacked the initial process of putting the player into a vessel in order to give the role of "the cage" to Kris, specifically knowing that Kris had enough control to serve a specific goal, and Kris very much knew ahead of time and how to handle it. The big question is, who did it, and why, and how was Kris so prepared to take on this specific role? We know Carol is involved somehow but aside from that...

27:00 I think Toby Fox saying “DELTARUNE only has one ending” is him saying that deltarune the PROPHECY only has one ending, and the game will in fact have multiple endings and differences

We're basically in a broken relationship with Kris.
They're the cage to contain us, and they're suffering from being our cage.

Bangin' analysis, my man

My favorite kris scene was their private concert that they hold in the holiday's dining room. Its just a small moment only for themself, with none of the piano pieces being able to be accessed in the soundtrack really hammering that in. Its nice to see them with some peace of mind, if only for a couple minutes

8:57 Im pretty sure she does notice tho. She talks to alphys in chapter 2 about how kris has been acting different lately. I guess lately could span a longer time frame but the point is she has noticed something is off with Kris

Look, I have no excuses for our Weird Route actions whatsoever.

But in the Normal Route, I should mention that we didn’t actively choose to inhabit Kris.  We were promised our own vessel before that was ripped away from us by a certain man who speaks in hands.  It's sort of a rough deal in that we didn’t choose to be the monster here.

Meanwhile with the soul: wow this game is so fun, I can’t believe it cost *25 bucks* to control the life of this random kid

We all know this hyper fixation will flare up again when the next chapter releases
