I really wish in halo 3 that the hunters remained allied with the elites like they were at the end of halo 2. It makes so much sense from the lore. Hunters don't care about the covenant, they only respect the elites, which is why the hunters fight against the covenant at the end of halo 2.

I remember thinking way back then that the Tank Pure form Flood was an infected Hunter. And that was long before I found out Hunters were a bunch of worms

I always thought the Lekgolo were so cool. Would have loved to see them explored more in official cannon.

I love the Lekgolo lore. The species is one of the most interesting and unique aspects of Halo lore.

Imagine befriending a Mgalekgolo. It spunds like its loyalty would only be matched by a Sangheili. Also you vocal audio sounded perfectly fine, no need to worry my friend.

That’s a really great point regarding a whole Hunter’s lack of a CNS. I always theorized that their flood immunity had to do with their “hive-mind” ability which somehow cancelled out the Flood’s — which I also thought regarding the Drones but now I’m not so sure

My favorite Covenant species, truely alien and unique. I especially like that they can take so many different forms.

I love how they had big spikes on their back as a gaming mechanic; it helps players gauge their position behind cover to compensate for the fact they can one-shot you on harder difficulty. Such a clever and subtle balancing mechanic.

I'm getting back into Halo, playing all the MCC campaigns, and listening to Halo Lore lately. Gonna be looking out for the video about the grunts

4:11 this whole part basically means the flood can’t handle hive mind inception the hive mind of the flood can’t control the hivemind of an infected species

I feel like the Lekgolo could have pretty easily subverted the Prophets and take over the Covenant if they had been so inclined. They were as stronger than Brutes, as intelligent as Sangheili and could interface with/control technology. If they had decided to take over High Charity, I don't think there's anything that the Prophets could have done to stop them. Since it was hard to communicate with them, and they didn't have a presence in the leadership of the Covenant, everyone just assumed they were doing their own thing and were cool with whatever the situation was. They were absorbed into the Covenant by virtue of their strength and usefulness though, not because they submitted to the religion; they could have been playing the long game and been secretly plotting to overthrow the Prophets the whole time, and no one would have been the wiser 😂
