Final Mix's color palette changes are so fascinating to me. When they were updating the games for their re-releases, the devs decided that, of all things, the color palette for some of the shadows needed updating. I like to think about it in the sense that this was sort of like a NG+ gamemode changing the color palette of the enemies, but for them to put these in the definitive versions of the games and make them the only color palettes available in rereleases and collections is so baffling, and it makes me wonder if they just- forgot.

While the palette swap didn't bother me, I was curious why the change. Then I remember reading back in the day that the reason for the switch was because the final fixes came right after the originals so they decided to recolor the heartless to fresh it up.

The Stealth Sneak does actually have a zigzagged mouth, so saying it's got no zigzag patterns isn't entirely accurate I just noticed.

the yellowish wight night seems like it would fit in the cave of wonders as a mummy.

17:08 i like the hands. I swear all these issues would be gone if they just combine the colors.

Guard Armor  Final Mix Colors is a  Mobile Suit Gundam reference ? I know not all Gundams got those colors , but its the best explanation why  the recolor looks like that , or some other Japanese media with Red white and blue character

When i first played final mix i was so confused at the color change for a minute i thought i was going color blind

I think Wight Knight's Final Mix coloration is meant to evoke a more aged, almost stained feeling for the bandages. I don't think it's meant to be yellow, but rather a sort of off-white. I prefer it other than it ruining the pun. It makes sense while still adding some variety in the shading. I also like the sort of sinister red tinge on the hands. I think it makes it look more menacing.

So fun fact about those ”yellow bastards” you mentioned in the sea neon segment. Those are actually lion’s mane jellyfish, and they’re the largest species of jellyfish that we know of, reaching a diameter of over 2 meters and with tentacles longer than 30 meters

Wait, I just realized now that they simply swapped the colors between the normal Soldiers and the Air Soldiers. How have I only now just realized that? XD
Something I have also noticed is that old Trickmaster seems to be based on the Queen of Hearts color palette and the new one based on the Cheshire Cat color palette.

Not even 2 minutes in and blue Kurt Zisa is haunting me. Now someone make a mod for that

I like pink bouncy wilds more than og colors. They're cute

I noticed when I started playing the PC release, and the colors looked different than how I remembered them from the original PS2.
I'm glad pc has a mod community, as the first mod I installed for the game was reverting the colors back to their original PS2 color scheme.

5:07 15th centuary, my favorite day of that month.

My only complaint with Opposite Armor is how it floats instead of bothering to use it's handfeet as feet, which just makes the whole transformation feel a bit pointless.

Angel star has those zig zaggy wires inside like a light bulb

Is it just me or did the soldier and large body swap pallettes with the air soldier? Air soldier originally had orange highlights, which were changed to purple. Soldier and large body had purple highlights which were changed to orange.

I love this video §
I wonder... are you going to make a similar video for the recolors of Kingdom Hearts 2 ?

Poor thing...

A mod for PC versions would be cool to have the recolors and og colors mixed.
