Limitation breeds creativity. If i remember correctly Team Cherry came to the concept of the characters being bugs because humans were too hard to draw so they would look right anatomicaly so they just went with very simple bugs.

I definitely think theres an important difference to be made between bad and simple or stylized.

A simple but competent art style when it comes to the technique and details, is much better quality wise over a detailed style with a lot of technical errors.

You have a very strong understanding of shapes, colors, and detail work, as well as appealing character design, that makes your style, I'd say, objectively good!

The fact you noticed and identified that the bricks looked out of place because of the angle and level of detail is proof of that, for sures. ❤
