मगर लगता है के जैसे पुरानी आशनाई(familiarity) है,

न मालूम था के होंगे ज़िंदगी में सिलसिले ऐसे,
के खुद हैरानियां हैरान हैं तुम जो मिले ऐसे,
जो ख़्वाबों में दिखी अक्सर, वही ये दिलरूबाई है,

मगर लगता है के जैसे पुरानी आशनाई है...

किताबों में पढ़ा था जब दीदार-ए-यार होते हैं,
पलों में बाग रूहों के हसीं गुलज़ार होते हैं,
फ़साने थे मगर तुमने हकीकत कर दिखाई है,

मगर लगता है के जैसे पुरानी आशनाई है...

ज़रा तुम भी तो बोलो जो मुसलसल(continuous) मुस्कुराते हो,
दिलों की बात मानो क्यों हमें ही आज़माते हो,
निगाहों ने तो कह दी जो लबों पे बात आई है,

मगर लगता है के जैसे पुरानी आशनाई है...

ये पलकों की अदाओं ने जहां तब्दील कर डाला,
मोहब्बत लफ्ज़ को किस नाज़ से तफसील(explain) कर डाला,
इन्हीं आंखों ने तो "सरताज" को शायरी सिखाई है,

मगर लगता है के जैसे पुरानी आशनाई है...
