This was a Skyward Sword Any% No Back in Time TAS authored by ‪@BigBenruns‬. You can check out their raw upload of the TAS without commentary here: (No Overlay) Skyward Sword Any% No Back in...

Commentary was provided by ‪@peppernicus7759‬ , ‪@YourAverageLink‬ , and myself. Sorry that my mic volume was a bit too high compared to the others.

This category forbids doing the Back in Time glitch which is heavily used in all other Skyward Sword categories to save a lot of time. So this is a demonstration of how fast the game takes without it's most vital speedrunning glitch.

TAS stands for Tool Assisted Speedrun. A TAS uses tools such as savestates, frame advance, and TAS input to create a demonstration of how fast a run could theoretically be. More info: https://tasvideos.org/WelcomeToTASVid...

I remember them days when tases with Wiimotion+ technology were deemed impossible due to being complicated and not being supported by emulators yet here we are getting a 4 hour SS TAS.

Awesome TAS. I didn't expect the minecart escort to be one of my favorite parts. To answer gym's question at 3:42:36 - this category was indeed in my downtime video, and the RTA record was 40% downtime. If I substitute the TAS's final time for the final RTA time without adjusting the amount of downtime at all (essentially assuming that the TAS exclusively improved non-downtime sections without removing any downtime, which isn't completely true but is a reasonable approximation), then I get that this TAS is 44% downtime.

God I love when people play the Wii versions of Zelda games. This and TP are a couple of my favorite games! Oracle of Ages used to be my absolute go-to when I was younger, but Wii tp holds my heart :)

I love this so much, as mechanically interesting as BIT and the theory behind it is, it's not the most entertaining thing to watch. One question I did have was why does the TAS save partway through Lanayru Mining Facility?
