Your brother is just such a gem. Honestly, love his energy.

Last year I begged my dad to help me build the desk in my classroom, and he refused. Your brother is there cause he wants to be there! Sometimes you help family/friends when you don't want to. You just be there for family. I'm sure you're there for him too...

Your niece is sooo adorable.  She did a what’s in my bag segment.😂

Moving rooms is never an easy task to do. I cannot wait to see your beautiful, organized room. Remember, you have all summer to get it done. Breathe. You got this!

I get a composition book every year to plan out my classroom.  I make sections: materials/ shopping list,  floor plan and bulletin boards,  curriculum,  behavior/classroom management,  and general ideas/  brain dump. It helps cut down the anxiety.

My professors used to say when you get to a new building,  make friends with the custodians, the secretaries,  and the reading specialist/ instructional coach.

Thank you for the video. It's crazy how relaxing and satisfying it is to watch the thought process of a teacher put a room together. My aunt use to be a teacher and I use to love to help her do her room.

You never know what you have until you have to move it and put it away!!😂😂 Shout out to your brother for not giving up on that desk girl!! 😂

I love this, I am a teacher in NC, we have very strict fire codes. We would never be able to paper our walls. We can only have about 80% covered or our school gets dinged by the fire marshall.

You've made nice progress!

I understand the feeling of being a burden. However, I'm willing to bet that your brother doesn't feel burdened by helping you.

My first classroom had counters with cabinets under all along one side plus big storage units with closets and cubbies for the kids. My next school (where I still teach) has one tiny little broom closet and nothing else. I have been missing those darn counters for 11 years lol 😅

“All I can do is be alone with my thoughts and anxieties…so I’m just gonna get into that” 😂

I think the shallow drawers are for art paper supplies and posters!
Doting over your niece is so precious.
Your brother is a great brother to you.

Your niece looks so beautiful. You and your brother doing a great job organizing the classroom and I know it’s going to take a long time to get everything done but you’ll get there. Also your brother did a good job building the L shaped desk. Thanks for sharing.

You can make your own magnetic borders by hot gluing magnets onto the back of any border.
Those are Artwork Drawers. To lay art project papers flat. That room may have originally been an ART room. OR a drafting room. I was a design major, and those types of drawers were in every classroom I was in. One of my kids is an Art Elementary Ed major, and she’s also got those types of drawers in every one of her classrooms at college.

Moving and setting up a new classroom space is tough. You’re doing a great job!

Not me learning about Bluey from your niece 😂

Things may not be the way you want yet, but just know your classroom setup videos are great inspiration. Btw those drawers are for art supplies. Our art teacher has a few cabinets like that. She  keeps their artwork, puzzles the kids are working on, etc in the drawers. Emory is so cute and love her purse.

It’s coming together!

As a teacher, classroom set up is my LEAST favorite thing to do but it feels so good when it's all done and looks great!  You and your brother are working so hard and it's going to look fantastic!
