Nautitech situation is not relating to defects of their manufactured boats, and the Shipyard is their own assets and technology but the boat builder belongs to a German fund CMP partners, which does not wish to remain in the business because of the global market cat inventories, and the charter boats exiting; and they produce owners' boat only ! This means the volume which was 70 % export sales dropped after the US tariff increased. The market recovery means that it may take up more than 5 years. It means that buyers will now look at second hand owners boat cat, and they are too small ; They are currently looking at a long term shareholder to take over, with the court supervising.
The boat you show at 7:26 is my 2020 leopard 45, this was from the survey when I purchased it. No structural issues found. We have hauled it since then and not so much as a blister. Please remove this particular image from your video as it is a different year and I would prefer my boat not be tied to issues it does not have.
Sounds good mathematically, but somebody who has done a couple of serious time on catamarans, most owners end up close to land and don’t really care about blue water sailing. One stands out for being solid. The older leopards. Bombproof and worth their pedigree. Not sponsored, just experienced after sailing them all. If you buy a “plastic “, expect snags. Take about between 1-10% of your purchase price and sort it out guaranteed.
My father had a brand-new Westerly Consort. The deck was perfect when launched. Then a crack developed in the deck. Water entered the cavity between the decks, which was filled with end-on balser wood. The balser wood turned to pulp, and the deck collapsed.
CATAMARANS ON THE MCMANSIONS OF THE SEA....... They are shite boxes covered in bling.... They look luxurious, to some eyes, but they are structurally and mechanically not built for long life..... They depreciate rapidly
Just typed in Nautitech in my search engine. Nothing about this. Second hand prices seem to be holding steady. Could this report be slightly economical with the truth?
Pretty interesting what's going on over at H&H half of their team the father and son have started their own company. It was a pretty big failure the little boat that the couple bought and had to return. I believe it was the H&H 44
6:50 "They wanted a full refund and wanted to keep the boat" ? So that's why they didn't get a refund, still have the boat and is forced to pay for redoing the glassfiber that didn't get epoxy. It has been smarter to take money while they where on the table. Now they have spend years on arguing with the company.
Construction must be of high quality, and the warranty reasonable; I can sell the specifications. That way, we might move past this dire situation where nature and business alike are being degraded—after all, producing chemicals robs nature of the long-term recovery it needs.
