As soon as they got rid of the water fountains and waterways, the mall immediately went down hill.  This used to be a good mall and we liked it better than at the time better than the Galleria and Prestonwood.  Valley View was already dead by the time Collin Creek mall opened.  My last visit I was the only one there besides the cleaning person and security.

My heart hurts remembering this place. Bought my Wife’s wedding ring at the Gordon’s.

Used to go there with my kids in the 80s. Lived a half mile away. Great mall. Kids are now 38 & 40.

I've lived in East Plano for 35 years. I can remember going into this mall with my parents as a child during Christmas time and it was so magical at night with the Christmas lights. Makes me sad that this and much of East Plano seems to be dying.

Thank you for this video. It has been years, and I just an hour or so ago found out my childhood mall had closed and since been demolished. I had no idea, it had been a long time. Thank you for this video. I got to see it again. I remember all the water fixtures and such. It feels like a dream when thinking back.

This was my mall growing up! I remember when the Macy's was Foley's. The entrances used to have animals and I always remember a friend's mom saying "Okay, I'll pick you up at the squirrel exit in 3 hours." So sad to see it so empty. It was poppin' in the late 90s/early 2000s.

Malls just aren’t as popular anymore!!  I really like the new outdoor concept, open air malls like they have in bigger cities, like Dallas and San Antonio. Yay...Lubbock FINALLY got an open-air concept Mall a few years ago!!!

1991 Gadzooks for clothing, skateboards and Swatch Watches. Sbarro Pizza and Arby’s in the food court. Loved it when they had the 5 roast beef sandwiches for $5. I always came in through the Sears entrance. Later on I’d stop in at Fast Forward for Skate Decks. Over time I had less and less need to go there for anything due to stores I’d frequent, not sticking around.

I use to live across the street from this mall,  and During Christmas  cars would have to park on the grass due to the lack of parking...

i remember i loved this location of the forever 21. it was such a big store with great variety of clothing. Other favorite stores were limited too, icing, claires, Victoria's Secret, disney store, bath and body works.

Awe...the good old 80’s!!  I grew up in Lubbock about 6 hours from Dallas.  We have a new outdoor Mall, but our good ole South Plains Mall has been modernized and is still pretty busy.

So many good memories of walking around during my middle school days. Thanks for filming this!

Loved that mall. Bought my super Nintendo at babages.  Worked at a jewelry store there in the mid-90s. Such fond memories.

Makes me want to know why malls in America are dying off, when they're still pretty popular in other countries like Australia and New Zealand

Collin Creek Mall and Richardson Square Mall were the malls I grew up with, and stayed with until their demise.  They were originally going to leave the JCPenny open until they had a chance to open a new one on the site, but when the plandemic hysteria hit, it forced them to close prematurely.  6:00 that paint color by the skylights is not actually from the 80s, but from a remodel that was done around 2005, I think, in an effort to renew interest in the mall.

I played hooky with a friend up here a month ago, got stuff from sears....or jc penny

I remember when the parking lot would be so full you had to park in the grass at Christmas

Bro you should go to more abandoned and creepy places, this video was so good!

It's a shame this closed down.  The mall looked very clean and new and had an interesting design.

Very nice retrospective...I like how you contrasted the mall in its heyday with the way it is now!
