Blue roses hold great significance for Jennie; every year on her birthday, her mother gives her a bouquet of them, so she views them as a source of comfort—she even alludes to this briefly in her verse in the Blackpink song "You Never Know." 💙

Symbolisms:
The fight between perfection and imperfection: Jennie embodies this tension, reflecting her struggle between being a polished idol and an individual seeking authenticity. The title suggests not failure, but embracing imperfection as part of her identity
The girl that appears throughout the MV, representing Jennie’s inner self. She confronts heavy burdens (walls of staring eyes) and speaks lines about thorns blooming into roses, symbolizing resilience through suffering.
Opening imagery of Jennie floating above a lake with swans evokes purity and fragility.
Her descent beneath the water recalls Ophelia from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, a symbol of tragic beauty and surrender.
Fire represents trial and transformation—she walks through flames without fear. Thorns cocooning her and her inner child suggest pain as a protective shell, but also the potential to bloom into roses. (This is explained in the video)
This imagery conveys that wounds are not destructive but formative.
There are others also, such as the purple roses, someone else mentioned this in a previous video, so I´ll let them explain that part more. Jennie is big into artistry and symbolism. As someone that doesn´t know much about her, it´s tough to catch it all, but thanks for trying.

"Fallen Angel" music video beautifully mirrors the concept of passing through a Spiritual Ordeal / Karmic Trial. By falling from heaven and losing her wings, she enters a painful earthly trial filled with isolation, trauma, and emotional captivity. Ultimately, the intense fire and the confrontation with her inner child do not represent destruction, but rather a purifying rebirth. By enduring and surviving this painful ordeal, she cleanses her past, transforms into a stronger version of herself, and earns the right to ascend once again as a truly free and empowered angel.
Just think of it this way. When we are young, we are born Angels. During life, you make choices, bad or wrong, and those choices can corrupt you so you become bad in people's eyes, and you become a fallen Angel. Like whatever she does people will judge and to them either they love her or just dislike her; she can't please everyone.
This is one of the best songs both artistically and in terms of listenability. There is a lot of depth and numerous theories surrounding this music video. Jennie has one of the best and most versatile discographies among K-pop artists. She is also the most-streamed K-pop female idol of all time. I’m not mentioning this to brag, but simply to highlight how much people enjoy her music. Her songs go viral every time.
Jennie released this song, along with two others, as a gift to her fans after her festival headlining performances. Since she’s taking a break for now, she didn’t want her fans to feel deprived, so she released a three-song EP, with "Fallen Angel" being one of the tracks. These songs are experimental and have a slower vibe.

Now that you’re starting to explore Blackpink’s albums and videos, I’d like to draw your attention to two live performances from the early days of their career: "Sure Thing" from the show Party People and the Black Label remix of "So Hot." Those performances convinced me that they are truly skilled and talented.

HAHA, I LOVE YOUR REACTION, TRULY! HMMM, YES, THIS ART IS ACTUALLY DEEP, AND PEOPLE CAN INTERPRET IT DIFFERENTLY, BUT IN REALITY, THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUTH, LIKE GRAVITY. NO MATTER HOW PEOPLE INTERPRET IT, IT IS ALWAYS THERE AND FUNCTIONS AS IT IS. LIFE IS NOT ALL ABOUT LOVERS, BUT LONGING FOR SOMEONE IS PART OF LIFE. HOWEVER, THIS WHOLE ART IS NOT ABOUT MAN AND WOMAN LOVE; IT IS ABOUT LIFE ITSELF, FROM START TO END AND START AGAIN. LIFE IS A CYCLE. WHEN WE ARE BORN, WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING; WE ARE IGNORANT. IT REFLECTS IN THIS MV: THE LIGHT COLOR IN THE START SYMBOLIZES PURITY AND IGNORANCE. SO, BECAUSE WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING AND WE ARE CONSCIOUSLY LIVING, WE SEEK PURPOSE. IN THE LYRICS, IT REPEATEDLY SAYS, "SEARCHING, SEARCHING FOR A LOVE" AND "WITHOUT YOU IT'S NO FUN." SO IN REALITY, WITHOUT LIFE PURPOSE AND LOVE AS PASSION, IT'S NOT FUN, AND AS A CHILD, IT IS NATURAL TO SEEK FUN. BECAUSE WE SEEK, WE NATURALLY HAVE EXPECTATIONS. THAT EXPECTATION, BOUND BY OUR LACK OF UNDERSTANDING ABOUT THE WORLD, WILL GIVE US PAIN AND DISAPPOINTMENTS. BUT AS YOU ARE LIVING LIFE, YOU PASSIONATELY SEEK PURPOSE AND ANSWERS. THAT'S WHY IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS MUSIC VIDEO, THE THEME COLOR BECOMES RED, SYMBOLIZING PASSION AND LOVE, AS WELL AS DANGER AND PAIN--BECAUSE LOVE HAS NO MEANING IF THERE IS NO PAIN, AND HOPE AND BEING PASSIONATE ARE THE RESULTS OF BEING DOWN AND SUFFERING IN VAIN, FULL OF QUESTIONS. AFTER THAT, IT CHANGES THEME AGAIN INTO BLACK AND WHITE. BLACK AND WHITE SYMBOLIZE HARMONY, COMPLETENESS, AND PLAIN TRUTH BEING UNDERSTOOD AND ACCEPTED. IT REPRESENTS BEING WHOLE--REPRESENTING BOTH THE LIGHT AND THE DARK OF A PERSON. SO IF WE SUM UP THE THEMES FROM LIGHT, TO RED, TO BLACK AND WHITE, IT IS ACTUALLY THE STAGES OF LIFE: FROM NOT KNOWING, TO SEEKING PURPOSE PASSIONATELY, AND THEN LEARNING, UNDERSTANDING, AND ACCEPTING EVERYTHING AS IT IS.
IN THIS MV, BABY JENNIE SPOKE ABOUT "GREED" AND STATED, "CLOSING YOUR EYES TO BE FREE AS CAN BE." AT THE END, IT STATED WE ARE ALL A BEAUTIFUL ROSE--YEAH, IT'S BEAUTIFUL, BUT WE ALSO HAVE THORNS. WE CAN HURT AND CAUSE SOME HURT, TOO. AT THE END OF THE VIDEO, JENNIE'S GESTURE IS CLOSING OUR EYES AND THE LITTLE JENNIE'S EYES, BECAUSE OPEN EYES MEAN SEARCHING. BECAUSE WE SEARCH, WE BECOME GREEDY. WHY? BECAUSE IN THE PROCESS OF SEARCHING, PAIN IS CONSTANT; PAIN WILL ALWAYS BE THERE. WE SEE CHAOS, WE SEE DANGER, WAR, AND SUFFERING. BECAUSE WE SEE, WE STRUGGLE AND FEEL FEAR, AND THAT FEAR WILL MAKE US INSECURE. WE BUILD WALLS AND BOUNDARIES, AND WE DREAM FOR MORE TO MAKE US FEEL SECURE. THAT IS WHY IN THE MUSIC VIDEO, WHEN JENNIE IS IN THE FIELD WITH THE BUTTERFLIES HAPPILY DANCING, SHE ENDS UP IN THE BEAUTIFUL HOUSE KEEPING ON DANCING GRACEFULLY. THEN THE DOOR OPENS, AND SHE SEES FIREWORKS OUTSIDE WITH EYES OPEN, SO JENNIE WALKS OUT AND FALLS INTO THE WATER, DROWNING. BUT SHE MOVES WITH GRACE DEEP IN THE WATER WHILE CELEBRATION OCCURS OUTSIDE. IT REFLECTS PASSION, OPPORTUNITY, SUCCESS, CELEBRATION, AND DROWNING WITH EXPECTATIONS--DROWNING FROM WHAT YOU KNOW, WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW, WHAT TO EXPECT, WHAT CAN BE ACCEPTED, WHAT IT CAN BE, WHAT THEY EXPECT, HOW THEY FEEL, AND MANY MORE REAL-LIFE FEELINGS IN EVERY SITUATION. WITH ALL OF THESE OVERWHELMING EMOTIONS AND EXPECTATIONS, JENNIE STILL MOVES WITH GRACE, EMBRACING EVERYTHING WHILE THE CELEBRATION KEEPS GOING OUTSIDE THE WATER. THAT IS WHY SHE MAKES A GESTURE CLOSING THE CRYING BABY JENNIE'S EYES--OR, IN THE MV, WE ARE IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE BABY ANGEL. I MEAN, THE CAMERA VIEW IS THE PERSPECTIVE OF BABY JENNIE, WHICH IS WHY IT FEELS LIKE BIG JENNIE IS CLOSING OUR EYES. IT IS SAYING, "IT'S OKAY, DON'T WORRY, DON'T FEEL FEAR, STOP HURTING. I AM HERE, I UNDERSTAND YOU, JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES." ALSO, IN THE LYRICS, IT SAYS, "CLOSE YOUR EYES AND I'LL TAKE YOU WHERE THE WIND BLOWS."
FALLING ANGEL IS NOT BAD; TO FALL IS NOT BAD, IT IS JUST NATURAL. DEATH IS NATURAL; WITHOUT DEATH, LIFE HAS NO MEANING. ALSO, A FALLEN ANGEL IN RELIGION IS SEEN AS BAD BECAUSE IT REPRESENTS "LUCIFER." STILL, RELIGION IS JUST A CATEGORY, NOT THE ULTIMATE TRUTH OF THE UNIVERSE, WHEREAS THE LATIN MEANING OF LUCIFER IS "LIGHT BRINGER" OR "MORNING STAR"--AND LIGHT IS TRUTH AND TRUTH MUST BE UNDERSTOOD AND ACCEPTED TO BE WHOLE AND COMPLETE, AND TO BE COMPLETE AND WHOLE, YOU WILL NOT FEEL FEAR. ALSO, IN REALITY, WITHOUT DARKNESS, LIGHT WOULDN'T EXIST, AND DARKNESS IS CONSTANT. IF YOU TAKE AWAY THE SUN, MOON, AND STARS IN THIS UNIVERSE, IT IS CONSTANTLY VERY DARK. IT IS LIKE WE ARE ALL BORN WITHOUT KNOWING THE TRUTH YET, SO IGNORANCE IS ALSO A DARK PLACE. THAT IS WHY WE EDUCATE, WE LEARN, WE LEARN THROUGH EXPERIENCE, AND WE CAN DETERMINE WHAT HURTS AND WHAT MAKES US HAPPY. ACTUALLY, WE ARE HAPPY BECAUSE WE ARE CONSTANTLY HURTING. IN REALITY, WE SEEK VALIDATION, PURPOSE, AND RECOGNITION. WE EXPECT, AND BECAUSE OF THAT, WE ARE CONSTANTLY HURTING OURSELVES. THAT IS WHY IF SOME OF OUR EXPECTATIONS ARE MET, AND IF SOMETIMES WE ARE VALIDATED, WE FEEL HAPPY.
ANYWAYS, THIS IS WAY TOO LONG NOW. ABOUT THE BURNING HOUSE AND THE LITTLE RUBY ANGELS SINGING, THIS PART IS IMPORTANT: IT REFLECTS EVERY VIEWER ON WHAT STATE OF LIFE SHE IS IN. SOME FEAR THIS PART, SOME LOVE IT, SOME QUESTION IT, AND SOME UNDERSTAND IT. SOME ARE DISTURBED, BUT SOME VIEWERS ONLY LOVE THE FAIRYTALE PART, BUT GET FEARFUL AND ANGRY WHEN THE SCENE SHIFTS INTO A HORROR-LIKE ATMOSPHERE, MOVING INTO THE FIRE WITH THE LITTLE RUBY ANGELS SINGING LIKE A HAUNTING SCENE. BUT THAT IS THE LESSON RIGHT THERE: LIFE IS NOT ALL BEAUTIFUL. YOU HAVE TO FACE THE FEAR TO KNOW THE TRUTH AND HEAL. IT REPRESENTS TRAUMA AND HEALING.
THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO SAY AND EXPLAIN, BUT IF WE DETAIL EVERYTHING IN THIS "FALLEN ANGEL" MUSIC VIDEO AND THE LYRICS' MEANING, IT WOULD TAKE TOO LONG AND TURN INTO A BOOK. WHILE THERE IS MORE TO SHARE THAT IS IMPORTANT AND SIGNIFICANT, I WILL END IT HERE--STILL, ALL THIS IS USELESS IF YOU DON'T EVEN READ IT, SO I WILL END IT HERE. HAHA, ANYWAYS, IT IS SIMPLE: JUST "LIVE WITH FAITH IN FATE, NOT IN FEAR." THANK YOU SO MUCH! GODSPEED AND MORE BLESSINGS TO YOU.
