It boggles my mind how slow we are in the energy sector. I installed just 4 solar panels, in the UK, on an external wall (not roof)
It provides me 3 times more than my daily consumption. And that's with just 4 panels and and hardly any installation costs.
It's pure madness that we burn any oil or gas in 2026

This is exactly what a 2nd car should look like, rather than marketing a Zoe, Twingos and such as only good for city driving.
Can you imagine what narrow UK streets and roads would look like if people drove SunVs instead of SUVs to do the school run?

I have lived in Thailand for over twenty years and this would have been perfect for those twenty years.
We came here with our three year old and had one more. We work from home so the majority of our driving was school runs. Averaged about 80 k's a day, 40 in the morning and 40 in the arvo....so this would be perfect. Would have covered the majority of all the lengthier local trips too.
So year, obviously wasn't available 20 years back but could be a great call for a young family today.

even without that thing being solar, the shade it gives alone is valuable for parking in sunny countries. the solar is just a great bonus!

For the life of me I don't know why ALL EV's and hybrids don't have solar panel roofs, hoods and body shells.  No matter how few kw's you get from them...you would get SOMETHING...and something is a lot better than nothing.
