I think the biggest issue right now is clarity. Riposte triggers off tiny bullets, quickest fix ever btw. Make the recast prompt go from grey to white when it can proc (this also makes it easy to know when the ability bugs so you can complain about it better to the devs).
2nd issue which I thought was only because I was bad at the game, but the delay on the stun is insane. Since it is a recast, extra input = more input delay = it feels BAD to use. It is no longer a "true" parry since you get stunned out of the recast. The ability to run away was removed, the "parry" part is hard to use, so what are you left with? Glorified knockdown. It is the only use I have for it, to stun bebop/haze/seven out of ult. Like was mentioned, you're only playing with 3 abilities and you're only going to build damage so you take someone out as quick as possible. Wonderful. It's not like I thought it was cool the fencing character was able to parry or anything, yk.
I agree Apollo should've been nerfed, he had too much damage for his movement. Heck, Riposte should've used stamina in the first place. 1 stamina to go the full distance and make it go a lot less without any. If you miss hitting the enemy, -1 stamina (wow revolutionary penalty for missing an ability), if you hit someone then the stamina is refunded. Also, I think it shouldn't even be able to stun unless the ability that is parried is a stun itself. But I doubt it's getting reverted, the recast has its own icon and I don't think the bugs with it are going to be easy to fix without it feeling "unfair" again.
Riposte feels so jank in an otherwise relatively coherent kit, I don't mind Apollo being weaker because I'll still play the funny ragebait high schooler prince but I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was having a miserable time trying to make it work. Also he still has a free execute during laning phase so clearly the nerf was oh, so devastating 😢 how will I ever be able to financially recover from this?
Hero pool is a bit Shallow atm for Draft to work where you can counter pick alota heroes, also added time to games is a bit onerous while still in alpha. The only way draft really consistently fixes team comp is if you yourself learn multiple roles and commit to flexing to fix a team comp and at present with a shallow hero pool many players may not have a character they wanna learn for role besides their favorite one. Deadlock heroes are also take alot more to learn than a Dota 2 hero so being able to flex and counter pick off your "mains" is going to be a hard pill for alota the player base to swallow dota 2 culture didn't really have many players commiting to a main in a way deadlock does.
Draft existing also make getting a bad team comp much more infuriating cause it happens due to players making dumb ass decions not just random roll of the dice and confirmation bias means ppl will remmber the games their team drafted like shit and opponets team drafted like pros much more than the reverse.
I feel like a crazy person when everyone begs for draft. I'm like, have y'all not played other games with draft? Same shit just with a 5 minute draft at the start. The flex player will flex and everyone else will play whatever they want.
Not to mention that sometimes you'll just get people who play flex but end up performing worse than if they just played something they were comfortable on.
I started deadlock because of apollo and then there is this. They really shouldn't change how abilities work beyond modifiers and bug fixed, ezpecially when they design the character around them in the first place. Nobody ever conceived Apollo's riposte to work this way when he was being designed and released.
