Today was a fantastic day of fishing! Our first cast was soaring with sardines that the net was practically flying. But the real surprise came on the last cast.

The school of fish we thought were sardines surprised us. When we pulled in the net, alongside the sardines, we found tral, a fish even more valuable than sardines. Sometimes, even we don't know what we'll encounter at sea until the net is closed!

This video shows real fishing on a purse seine boat: net preparation, casting, surrounding the school, pulling in the net, and bringing the catch onto the boat.

Professional purse seine fishing off the coast of Mersin and footage of fishermen's real lives at sea.
