Racing down pit road, using lug wrenches to change tires, and cranking the drivers window back up leaving the pit! WOW!!! This was the real hey day of stock car racing!
Those stock cars sounded more like warbirds in full flight. And to think there were WWII vets in the pits. Glad they made it home for a big day at the track.
I recognized every car manufacturer by sight in this race !!! π If Nascar had kept to road car specs Detroit would be selling 2 door sedans today instead of SUVs π.Our loss π’.
Its still sad that Tiny died too soon. Tiny Lund was ( DeWayne Louis " Tiny" Lund ). BORN November 14,1929 in Harlan, Iowa , United States.

I picked up a Hot Rod magazine in 1963 when I was 12 years old. This is in South Africa. I read about Tiny Lund winning this race in his English Motors Ford Galaxie. Became a fan of NASCAR then. Not so much anymore.
