As someone who lives in China, I can say needing to pull out my phone and click on a stupid app for the metro is not as good as it sounds. Having everything on your phone also means you have to fumble through all the apps just to do a simple task

As a Chinese, I think you have understood what true futurism is. It's not about discarding the past, or merely relying on machinery and high technology. Instead, it's about using high technology to embrace history and culture, and to make the present life better. I'm so glad that you come to China, wish you happy every day!

China isn't the only place with Face pay. We have it in Russia too (you need to smile into the camera to pay) but with all the data leaks I've been avoiding it as much as I can. Palm scanning is news for me though. Sounds like a far better option than allows masks to stay on
